Guanshan Subdistrict
Guanshan Subdistrict () is a subdistrict in Hongshan District, Wuhan, Hubei, China. To the east it borders the Donghu New Technology Development Zone; to the south it borders Jiangxia District and the Third Ring Road (Wuhan), Third Ring Road; to the west it borders Zhuodaoquan Subdistrict (); to the north it borders the East Lake (Wuhan), East Lake Nature Scenic Area. The subdistrict encompasses the campuses of more than ten universities including Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), China University of Geosciences, South Central University for Nationalities, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and Wuhan Textile University (). History Guanshan People's Commune (the forbearer of Guanshan Subdistrict) was established in August 1958. Subdistrict (China)
A subdistrict ()' is one of the smaller administrative divisions of China, administrative divisions of China. It is a form of townships of China, township-level division which is typically part of a larger urban area, as opposed to a discrete towns of China, town (zhèn, 镇) surrounded by rural areas, or a rural townships of China, township (xiāng, 乡). In general, urban areas are divided into subdistricts and a subdistrict is sub-divided into several residential community, residential communities or neighbourhoods as well as into villagers' groups (居民区/居住区, 小区/社区, 村民小组).
