Guangzhou Korean School
Guangzhou Korean School (, ko, 광저우한국학교) is a South Korean international school in , Panyu District, Guangzhou. Kim Jang-hwan, South Korea's consul general in Guangzhou, announced the opening of a Korean international school in Guangzhou in 2011. Because Panyu District was densely populated with Koreans, the school was planned to be located there. The Chinese Ministry of Education approved the school as a school for teaching foreigners on July 24, 2013. Location It is in , Panyu District, Guangzhou. It was formerly located within the within the Jinxiuxiangjiang Primary School in Jinxiuxiangjiang Apartment in Nancun Town, Panyu District. At a later time it was located in Asian Games City (亚运城), Shilou Town. Panyu District
Panyu, alternately romanized as Punyu, is one of 11 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province, China. It was a separate county-level city before its incorporation into modern Guangzhou in 2000. The present district covers an area of about . Geography Panyu lies at the heart of the Pearl River Delta, its boundary straddles from latitudes 22.26' to 23.05', and sprawls from longitudes 113.14' to 113.42'. Facing the Lion Sea in the east and the estuary of the Pearl River in the south, its eastern border is separated from Dongguan by a strip of water, and the western border of Panyu is adjacent to the cities of Nanhai, Shunde and Zhongshan, while it abuts the downtown of Guangzhou in the north. Guangzhou
Guangzhou (, ; ; or ; ), also known as Canton () and alternatively romanized as Kwongchow or Kwangchow, is the capital and largest city of Guangdong province in southern China. Asian Games
The Asian Games, also known as Asiad, is a continental multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. The Games were regulated by the Asian Games Federation (AGF) from the first Games in New Delhi, India, until the 1978 Games. Since the 1982 Games, they have been organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), after the breakup of the Asian Games Federation. Koreans in China (), Korean Chinese (), Joseonjok, Chosŏnjok (), or Chaoxianzu (), are Chinese by nationality and are Koreans by ethnicity (with either full or partial Korean ancestry). A majority of the chaoxianzu are descendants of immigrants from Korean peninsula from recent immigration. The Chinese government officially recognize them as one of the 56 ethnicities being part of the 55 ethnic minorities in China. They are the 13th largest minority group in China. Their total population was estimated at 1,923,842 and 1,830,929 according to the 2010 Chinese census.
