Großhöflein
Großhöflein ( hu, Nagy-Höflány, Nagyhöflány, hr, Velika Holovajna) is a market town in eastern Austria, in the state of Burgenland. It is located near the state capital Eisenstadt. History BCE, the area was part of the Celtic kingdom of Noricum. Under the Roman Empire, today's Großhöflein was in the province of Pannonia. Like all of Burgenland, Großhöflein was in Hungary until 1920/21. The Bezirk Eisenstadt-Umgebung ( hr, Kotar Željezno-okolica) is an administrative district (''Bezirk'') in the federal state of Burgenland, Austria. The area of the district is 455.5 km², with a population of 44,257 (2022), and a population density of 98 persons per km². Eisenstadt (; hu, Kismarton; hr, Željezni grad; ; sl, Železno, Bavarian language, Austro-Bavarian: ''Eisnstod'') is a city in Austria, the state capital of Burgenland. It had a recorded population on 29 April 2021 of 15,074. In the Habsburg monarchy, Habsburg Empire's Kingdom of Hungary, Kismarton (Eisenstadt) was the seat of the House of Esterházy, Eszterházy Hungarian nobility, Hungarian noble family. The composer Joseph Haydn lived there as ''Hofkapellmeister'' under Esterházy patronage. Burgenland
Burgenland (; hu, Őrvidék; hr, Gradišće; Austro-Bavarian: ''Burgnland;'' Slovene: ''Gradiščanska'') is the easternmost and least populous state of Austria. Pannonia
Pannonia (, ) was a province of the Roman Empire bounded on the north and east by the Danube, coterminous westward with Noricum and upper Italy, and southward with Dalmatia and upper Moesia. Pannonia was located in the territory that is now western Hungary, western Slovakia, eastern Austria, northern Croatia, north-western Serbia, northern Slovenia, and northern Bosnia and Herzegovina. States Of Austria
Austria is a federal republic made up of nine states (German: ''Länder''). Since ''Land'' is also the German word for "country", the term ''Bundesländer'' (literally ''federal states'') is often used instead to avoid ambiguity. The Constitution of Austria uses both terms.
