Gross Taroc
Grosstarock (german: Großtarock) is an old three-handed card game of the Tarock family played with a full 78-card Tarot pack. It was probably introduced into the southern List of states in the Holy Roman Empire, German states around 1720 but spread rapidly into Austria and northwards as far as the Netherlands and Scandinavia. It only survives today in Denmark where it is called Tarok. Classical Grosstarock is not related to the modern 54-card game known as Viennese Grosstarock which developed out of Zwanzigerrufen. The tarot (, first known as '' trionfi'' and later as ''tarocchi'' or ''tarocks'') is a pack of playing cards, used from at least the mid-15th century in various parts of Europe to play card games such as Tarocchini. From their Italian roots, tarot playing cards spread to most of Europe evolving into a family of games that includes German Grosstarok and more recent games such as French Tarot and Austrian Königrufen which are still played today. In the late 18th century, French occultists began to make elaborate, but unsubstantiated, claims about their history and meaning, leading to the emergence of custom decks for use in divination via tarot card reading and cartomancy. Zwanzigerrufen
Zwanzigerrufen or Zwanz'gerrufen is the leading trick-taking card game of the Tarock family in many regions of eastern Austria. Its rules are simpler than the game of Königrufen which is more widely played in the whole of Austria. As is common in Tarock games, the cards have various point values – the primary goal in an individual game is to win the majority of points. Cards Zwanzigerrufen is played with 40 cards taken from the 54-card deck used for Königrufen (the so-called Industrie und Glück deck). The resulting deck consists of 20 tarocks as trumps and 20 plain suit cards. The tarocks are numbered with Roman numerals from I to XXI, in addition there is the unnumbered ''Sküs'' or ''Gstieß''. Brabrand () is a postal district of Aarhus Municipality, Denmark. South of Brabrand, in the Aarhus river-valley, is the largest recreational area of Aarhus Municipality, comprising the Brabrand Lake and the meadow-lake of Årslev, with surrounding natural sites. Blovstrød is a small town and parish in Allerød Municipality, North Zealand, located some 30 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The town is situated on the east side of Lyngby Kongevej, approximately one kilometre east of Lillerød and Allerød station. Two new neighbourhoods, Ny Blovstrød and Teglværkskvarteret, are planned on the west side of Lyngby Kongevej. History Early history Blovstrød is first mentioned in 1265 as ''Blaustruth''. Bavarian Animal Tarot
Animal Tarot (German: ''Tiertarock'') is a genre of tarot decks used for playing card games that were most commonly found in northern Europe, from Belgium to Russia, only one of which has survived: the Adler Cego pattern in south Germany. A theme of animals, real and/or fantastic, replaces the traditional trump scenes found in the Italian-suited tarot packs such as the Tarot of Besançon. The ''Sküs'' plays a musical instrument while the ''Pagat'' is represented by Hans Wurst, a carnival stock character who carries his sausage, drink, slap stick, or hat. They constitute the first generation of French-suited tarot patterns. Prior to their introduction, tarot card games had been confined to Italy, France, and Switzerland. The ''Damen Conversations Lexikon'' is a 10-volume ''Konversationslexikon'' ( de; a type of dictionary, with encyclopedic explanations) from the 19th century, which at the time of publication was aimed primarily at German women of the bourgeoisie who were interested in education. History At the beginning of the 1830s, the German book market offered around 50 encyclopaedic works that dealt with a wide range of special subjects and were aimed at different target groups. For example, there was the Große Conversations-Lexikon by Joseph Meyer, which was aimed at the educated classes and was distributed in individual volumes. The writer Carl Herloßsohn, who came from a poor background, relied on a similar concept by starting to publish the ''Damen Conversations Lexikon'' in 1834. Taroc l'Hombre or Tarok-l'Hombre is an extinct card game of the European Tarot card game family for three players that was played with a full pack of 78 tarot cards, known as ''tarocs'' or ''taroks''. It emerged in Italy around 1770 as Tarocc 'Ombre but later spread to Austria and Germany. It was a crucial development, with the important idea of bidding imported from l'Hombre, hence the name.
