Police Ground is a multi-purpose stadium in St. George's, Grenada. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 8,000 people. It was renamed to Kirani James Athletic Stadium in April 2017, in honour for the first olympic medallist of Grenada, Kirani James. Grenada National Football Team
The Grenada national football team represents Grenada in international football and is controlled by the Grenada Football Association, a member of the Caribbean Football Union of CONCACAF. The team is nicknamed ''The Spice Boys'', a reference to the country being dubbed as the "Island of Spice" or the "Spice Isle". Grenada has never qualified for the World Cup but have finished second in the Caribbean Cup in 1989 and 2008. While any stadium could potentially host more than one type of sport or event, this concept usually refers to a specific design philosophy that stresses multifunctionality over specificity. Kirani James
Kirani James (born 1 September 1992) is a Grenadian professional sprinter who specializes in the 200 and 400 metres. He won the 400 m at the World Championships in 2011 and the 2012 London Olympics. In the 400 metres James also won the silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, thus becoming the first man to earn three medals in the centennial history of the event. He is Grenada's first and only Olympic medalist. Prodigious from a young age, he ran the fastest 400 m times ever by a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old. 2016 CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship
The 2016 CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship was the 5th edition of the CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organised by CONCACAF for the women's under-17 national teams of the North, Central American and Caribbean region. The tournament was hosted by Grenada and take place between 3–13 March 2016, as announced by CONCACAF on 15 May 2015. A total of eight teams will play in the tournament. Same as previous editions, the tournament acted as the CONCACAF qualifiers for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. The top three teams of the tournament qualified for the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Jordan as the CONCACAF representatives.
