Gregor Willmes
Gregor Willmes (born 30 March 1966) is a German musicologist, music writer and cultural manager. Life and career Born in Wanne-Eickel, Willmes took private piano, organ and music theory lessons with Matthias Kreuels. He studied musicology, philosophy and art history at the University of Bochum. Willmes has been writing about music for daily and music magazines since 1989. In addition, he writes programmed texts for major music festivals, booklet texts for major record labels and musical essays. Willmes was a volunteer at the '' Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung''. Since 1997 he was editor and from 2003 to 2008 chief editor of the music magazine '. He is co-author of the work ''PianistenProfile - 600 performers: their biography, their style, their recordings''. Herne () is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located in the Ruhr area directly between the cities of Bochum and Gelsenkirchen. The Ruhr University Bochum (, ) is a public research university located in the southern hills of the central Ruhr area, Bochum, Germany. The Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik ("German Record Critics' Award") was established in Germany in 1963 by publisher Richard Kaselowsky with the aim of setting the "most rigorous standards for supreme achievement and quality" in the field of music recording. Later on, it became closely linked to the German music industry's Deutsche Phono-Akademie e.V. – however, in 1980, the entire jury cut these ties and became an independent association. The Hochschule für Musik Detmold is a university-level music school situated in Detmold, Germany. Ingo Harden (born 26 February 1928) is a German music critic and writer. Life Born in Hamburg, Harden studied musicology with Heinrich Husmann and piano with Ilse Fromm-Michaels. From 1954 he worked first as an author and later as an editor for the then Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk. In 1964 he took over the editorial office of ' and headed the journal until 1976. From 1964 he was one of the jurors, later until 2000 managing secretary of the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik. From 1977 to 1991 Harden was the German representative of the International Record Critics' Award.
