Greg Thompson (cricketer)
Greg James Thompson (born 17 September 1987) is an Irish cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a leg-break bowler. He has played for Ireland since 2004, playing for the full squad before reverting to play for the Under-17, Under-19 and Under-23 teams respectively from 2005 onwards. He is at Royal School Armagh. He played for Lancashire during 2005, having played for Hampshire's Second XI in 2004. He represented Lancashire in the Second XI trophy during 2006. Thompson represented Ireland in the 2004 and 2006 Under-19 World Cups. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Bangladesh on 18 March 2008, and went on to play in all three matches of this tour (his only ODI appearances to date). He made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against Hong Kong more than 8 years later on 5 September 2016. Lisburn (; ) is a city in Northern Ireland. It is southwest of Belfast city centre, on the River Lagan, which forms the boundary between County Antrim and County Down. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. Euro T20 Slam
The Euro T20 Slam is a planned professional Twenty20 cricket league. The first edition of the tournament was initially scheduled to start in August 2019, with matches to be held in Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands. It's launch has been postponed on several occasions due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. History In March 2019, Cricket Scotland, Cricket Ireland and Royal Dutch Cricket Association officially announced the Euro T20 Slam. It was to start on 30 August and conclude on 22 September 2019 and feature 33 matches. The tournament was to have six city-based franchise teams, two each from Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands.
