Greg Sutton (soccer)
Greg Sutton (born April 19, 1977) is a Canadian former soccer player and broadcaster. He played as a goalkeeper for several A-League and Major League Soccer teams, including the Montreal Impact and Toronto FC, as well as the Canadian national team. Playing career Youth and college Sutton was born in Canada, but spent a good part of his adolescence playing soccer in Bethel, Connecticut, United States, where his father was transferred as part of his employment. He played college soccer at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. Professional During the 2003 season, Sutton helped the Montreal Impact become the USL squad with the lowest goals allowed total and won the Goalkeeper of the Year honor. Canton is a village and county seat of St. Lawrence County, New York, United States. The village is centrally located in both the town of Canton and the county of St. Lawrence. The two-stage 2011 MLS Re-Entry Draft took place on December 5, 2011 (Stage 1) and December 12, 2011 (Stage 2). All 19 Major League Soccer clubs participated. Frank Rost (born 30 June 1973) is a German former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He comes from a sporting family background; his father Peter won a gold medal at the 1980 Olympic Games in handball, and his mother Christina, also a handball player, won the silver at the 1976 Summer Olympics and bronze at the 1980 Games. Nick Garcia (born April 9, 1979 in Plano, Texas) is an American former soccer player. Career Youth and College As a junior and senior at Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, Texas, Garcia helped his high school win their first 2 TAPPS state boys soccer championships in 1996 and 1997. He was selected to the all-district, all-state and all-tournament teams. Garcia won the 1996–97 Gatorade National Boys Soccer Player of the Year award, as well, while starring for Dallas Texans youth club. Brian Edwards (born October 6, 1984) is an American former soccer player who last played as a goalkeeper for Degerfors IF. Career Youth and College Edwards attended Providence High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, played club soccer for the Charlotte Soccer Club, and played college soccer at Wake Forest University. In his four-year playing career at Wake Forest, Edwards put up a career 0.78 GA average, 44 career shutouts, and led the Demon Deacons to victory in the 2007 Division I Men's College Cup, defeating Ohio State University in the final. Edwards was named the Final Four's defensive MVP. During his college years he also played with Carolina Dynamo of the USL Premier Development League.
