Greg Evans (cartoonist)
Greg Evans (born November 13, 1947) is an American cartoonist and the creator of the syndicated comic strip '' Luann''. He received the 2003 National Cartoonists Society Reuben Award for the strip. He has been nominated four other times for the same award. Career In ''100 Years of American Newspaper Comics'', Dennis Wepman wrote that Evans "taught junior and senior high school art in his native California, worked as promotion manager and graphic artist for a TV station in Colorado, and entertained with a robot at trade shows and fairs before he sold ''Luann'' to News America Syndicate in 1984." Evans wrote a musical based on Luann, ''Luann: Scenes in a Teen's Life'', which debuted March 2008 at Palomar College in San Marcos, California. It was directed by Dana Case. California State University, Northridge (CSUN or Cal State Northridge) is a public university in the Northridge neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. An inkwell is a small jar or container, often made of glass, porcelain, silver, brass, or pewter, used for holding ink in a place convenient for the person who is writing. The artist or writer dips the brush, quill, or dip pen into the inkwell as needed or uses the inkwell as the source for filling the reservoir of a fountain pen. An inkwell usually has a lid to prevent contamination, evaporation, accidental spillage, and excessive exposure to air. A type known as the travelling inkwell was fitted with a secure, screw lid so a traveller could carry a supply of ink in their luggage without the risk of leakage. North County Times
The ''North County Times'' was a local newspaper in San Diego's North County. It was headquartered in Escondido. The final publisher was Peter York. It was formed in 1995 from the merger of the ''North County Blade-Citizen'' of Oceanside (founded 1929) and the '' Escondido Times-Advocate'' (founded 1909) by Howard Publications. Beginning in 1997, the Times also published ''The Californian'' in Temecula, located in southwest Riverside County. The newspaper was published with three local editions including ''The Californian''. Lee Enterprises acquired Howard in 2002. ''It's a Miracle'' is a television show that aired on PAX TV between September 6, 1998 and August 12, 2006. Initially hosted by Billy Dean and Nia Peeples and then Richard Thomas, and later by Roma Downey, it explored case studies of people who experienced perceived miracles during their lifetime. This included stories of a pet that saved lives of family members, and the success of someone who born -drug addicted and abandoned. The show also covered the near death of a surfer who was in high water wells when they were knocked unconscious by their surf board. The show format could be altered to fit into half-hour or hour-long slots, varying the number of case studies shown in each episode as needed.
