''Greatest Hits'' is the title of two compilation albums released by the American rock band Survivor in 1989 and 1993. The first Survivor ''Greatest Hits'' album was released in 1989, after the band went on indefinite hiatus following the commercial failure of their 1988 album ''Too Hot to Sleep''. The album covers 10 of the band's singles from 1981 to 1988. Survivor is an American Rock music, rock band formed in Chicago in 1978 by Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan. The band achieved its best success in the 1980s, producing many charting singles, especially in the United States. Peter Beckett
Peter Beckett (born 10 August 1948) is an English musician and songwriter who has written songs for many prominent recording artists, his own bands and solo work, and for several films. He is likely best known as the lead singer and guitarist for 1970s soft rock group Player, which scored a U.S. number one hit in 1977 with " Baby Come Back". Early life Beckett was born in the Aigburth district of Liverpool, England on August 10, 1948. He was influenced by seeing the Beatles perform at the famous Cavern Club. Career At 16, he recorded his first record, "All Night Stand", with a band called 'The Thoughts'. "All Night Stand" was written by Ray Davies from The Kinks. He then joined a band called 'Winston G and The Wicked', later renamed 'Whip'. Dennis Earle Lambert (born 1947 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American musician, songwriter and record producer. Career Lambert began his music career in 1960 when he signed to Capitol Records as a recording artist. By the mid-1960s, he was writing and producing for other artists. Among his earliest work with his first main collaborator Lou Courtney were songs for Freddie & the Dreamers, Lorraine Ellison, Jerry Butler and Jerry Lee Lewis. In 1965, Lambert joined the A&R staff of Mercury Records where he was mentored by Quincy Jones and Shelby Singleton, before joining Don Costa at DCP Records, where he ran the label's A&R department, producing and writing songs.
