Gravity Studios
Gravity Studios is a recording studio in Chicago, Illinois founded in 1993 by Doug McBride. Starting with the single "Seether" by local band Veruca Salt, Gravity has hosted bands such as the Plain White T's, Silversun Pickups, and Fall Out Boy. An adjacent mastering studio, Gravity Mastering, has been used by bands and producers throughout United States. History Gravity Studios was founded by music producer/ engineer Doug McBride in 1993, in Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. McBride left his job at Chicago Recording Company to manage the new recording studio, and picked Wicker Park because it was a cheap area to afford practice space, and also its central position in the local alt rock scene. Ultrasuede
Ultrasuede is the trade name for a synthetic ultra-microfiber fabric invented in 1970 by Dr. Miyoshi Okamoto, a scientist working for Toray Industries. In Japan, it is sold under the brand name Ecsaine. It is often described as an artificial substitute for suede leather. The fabric is multifunctional: it is used in fashion, interior decorating, automobile and other vehicle upholstery, and industrial applications, such as protective fabric for electronic equipment. It is also a very popular fabric in the manufacture of footbags (also known as hacky sacks) and juggling balls. Other manufacturers such as Sensuede and Majilite also produce similar product lines of synthetic microfiber suede. Mike Clink
Mike Clink is an American record producer. He began his career as an engineer at Record Plant Studios, recording such bands as Whitesnake, Triumph, Guns N' Roses, Mötley Crüe, Megadeth, UFO (including ''Strangers in the Night''), Jefferson Starship, The Babys, Heart, Eddie Money, and many others. Career Clink began producing in 1986. Jim O'Rourke (born January 18, 1969, Chicago, Illinois) is a Tokyo-based American musician, composer and record producer. He has released albums across varied genres, including singer-songwriter music, post-rock, ambient, noise music, and tape experiments. He was associated with the Chicago experimental and improv scene when he relocated to New York City in 2000. He now resides in Japan. Mitchell Blake Easter (born November 15, 1954) is a musician, songwriter, and record producer. Frequently associated with the jangle pop style of guitar music, he is known as producer of R.E.M.'s early albums from 1981 through 1984, and as frontman of the 1980s band Let's Active. Damon Michael Gough (born 2 October 1969), known by the stage name Badly Drawn Boy, is an English indie singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Gough chose his stage name from a character in the show ''Sam and his Magic Ball'', which he saw on TV at a party in Trafford, Greater Manchester, in 1995. Before he thought of using this name he made some business cards, each one unique, with a printed picture of a drawing by his nephew and a small collage by Gough. Rachael Yamagata (born September 23, 1977) is an American singer-songwriter and pianist from Arlington, Virginia. She began her musical career with the band Bumpus before becoming a solo artist and releasing five EPs and four studio albums. ''Pisces Iscariot'' is a compilation album by American alternative rock band the Smashing Pumpkins, released in 1994 through Virgin Records, consisting of B-sides and outtakes. Reaching number 4 in the US upon its 1994 release, ''Pisces Iscariot'' was certified platinum by the RIAA on November 23, 1994. The album was initially to be called ''Neptulius''. The album was re-released by EMI as a deluxe edition CD and LP on July 17, 2012. Packaging The CD, LP, and cassette issues were each released with unique cover artwork. The US vinyl release was pressed on amber vinyl, and the first 2,000 copies included a bonus 7" single with "Not Worth Asking" from the original "I Am One" 7", backed with "Honeyspider II". Jamie Blake (born c. 1975) is a singer/songwriter. Blake grew up in Chicago before moving to Washington DC in 1993, where she attended The American University. She left for New York in 1994 to study at New York University. She was signed by A&M Records in 1996. Her debut album, self-titled ''Jamie Blake'', was released in August 1997.
