Granger Hall (basketball)
Granger Errol Hall (born June 18, 1962) is an American retired professional basketball player. A standout college basketball player at Temple University, Hall also played in Spain's Liga ACB for 13 years, for a variety of clubs, and retired as that league's all-time leading rebounder (currently #2 overall). Early life and education Hall grew up in Clayton, New Jersey and played for his hometown team at Clayton High School. College career Hall went on to play at Temple University for coach Don Casey in the East Coast Conference. After playing sparingly as a freshman, Hall broke out as a sophomore in 1981–82, averaging 14.9 points and 8.6 rebounds per game and sharing conference player of the year honors with American University's Mark Nickens. In the offseason, Temple moved to the Atlantic 10 Conference and Casey was replaced by John Chaney. As a junior, Hall averaged 20.6 points and 7.4 rebounds in the first five games of the year. American Eagles Men's Basketball
The American Eagles men's basketball team represents American University in Washington, D.C. in NCAA Division I competition. East Coast Conference (Division I)
The East Coast Conference was an college athletic conference at the Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). It was founded as the university division of the Middle Atlantic Conferences (MAC) in 1958. The MAC consisted of over 30 teams at that time, making it impossible to organize full league schedules in sports like football, basketball, and baseball. In 1958, the larger schools created their own mini-conference, consisting of 11 members (7 for football). In 1974, the larger schools in the MAC officially formed the East Coast Conference. During the 1974-75 through 1981-82 seasons, the ECC enjoyed a consistent membership of 12 teams. That stability was rocked when St. Joseph's, Temple, and West Chester departed in the summer of 1982, while Towson was added, trimming the league to 10 programs. Don Casey
Lawrence Donald Casey (born June 17, 1937) is an American former professional and collegiate basketball coach. He has coached two National Basketball Association (NBA) teams, the Los Angeles Clippers and the New Jersey Nets—each for a season and a half. He had previously coached the Temple Owls from 1973 to 1982. He also worked as an assistant coach with the Chicago Bulls (1982–83) and Boston Celtics (1990–1996). Casey grew up in Collingswood, New Jersey and attended Camden Catholic High School. As a young man in the 1960s, Casey coached at Bishop Eustace Preparatory School in Pennsauken Township, New Jersey, where he was recommended for a job as a JV coach by a friend and took over the varsity squad after the coach left the job. His coaching led to two state championships. The Liga ACB, known as Liga Endesa for sponsorship reasons, is the top professional basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system. Administrated by the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB), Liga ACB is contested by 18 teams, with the two lowest-placed teams relegated to the LEB Oro and replaced by the top team in that division plus the winner of the promotion playoffs. In United States colleges, top-tier basketball is governed by collegiate athletic bodies including National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA).
