Grange Moor
Grange Moor is a village in the Kirklees district of West Yorkshire, England. The village is situated between Huddersfield (6 miles (10 km) away) and Wakefield (9 miles (14 km) away). In 2019 it had an estimated population of 1101. The village is represented on Kirkburton parish council and is in the Kirkburton ward of Kirklees Council. Grange Moor is situated on moorland with the same name and is to the north of a road junction on the A642, A637 and B6118 roads (known as Grange Moor Crossroads). Shuttle Eye Colliery was situated near the crossroads, its site now occupied by warehousing. The church is dedicated to St Bartholomew. The village school, Grange Moor Primary School, has places for 120 children. The village is policed by the West Yorkshire Police. Grange Moor Brass Band was formed 1854, and has had a band room in the village since 1937. Kirkburton
Kirkburton is a village, civil parishes in England, civil parish and ward in Kirklees in West Yorkshire, England. It is south-east of Huddersfield. West Yorkshire

Huddersfield
Huddersfield is a market town in the Kirklees district in West Yorkshire, England. It is the administrative centre and largest settlement in the Kirklees district. The town is in the foothills of the Pennines. The River Holme's confluence into the similar-sized Colne to the south of the town centre which then flows into the Calder in the north eastern outskirts of the town. The rivers around the town provided soft water required for textile treatment in large weaving sheds, this made it a prominent mill town with an economic boom in the early part of the Victorian era Industrial Revolution. Kirklees Council is the local authority providing most local government services for the borough of Kirklees in West Yorkshire, England. It is a metropolitan district council and one of five constituent councils of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority. Moorland or moor is a type of habitat found in upland areas in temperate grasslands, savannas, and shrublands and montane grasslands and shrublands biomes, characterised by low-growing vegetation on acidic soils. A642 Road
The A642 is an A-road in West Yorkshire, England which runs from Huddersfield to the A64 near Leeds. It partly follows the route of a historic turnpike road, which is evidenced by surviving toll houses. The road begins at Waterloo east of the town centre at the junction with A629 and continues via Lepton to Grange Moor where the A637 branches off. From there it passes through Middlestown and Horbury (on the Horbury bypass) and leads to the junction with A638 west of Wakefield City Centre. Shuttle Eye Colliery
Shuttle Eye Colliery was a coal mine on the South Yorkshire Coalfield at Grange Moor between Wakefield and Huddersfield on the A642 road, in England. The colliery was started in 1862 by Lockwood and Elliott and had two shafts, the deepest 288 yards. It produced coal from the Beeston and Black Bed seams. Two drift mines at Gregory Spring in Hopton near Mirfield to the north were linked to Shuttle Eye in 1962.
