Graham Roberts (actor)
Graham Roberts (10 October 1929 – 28 October 2004) was an English actor best known for his work on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 4, including 31 years playing George Barford, the gamekeeper in Radio 4 soap opera ''The Archers''. He was born and raised in Chester, and was educated at King's School in the city. Later, he studied at Bristol and later Manchester University. He also appeared on film and television, including the series ''Z Cars''. He was also a continunuity announcer with Yorkshire Television until 1993, alongside announcing colleague Redvers Kyle - both announcers made a rare in-vision appearance on the regional news programme ''Calendar'' the same evening. Redvers Kyle
Redvers Buller Kyle (25 November 1929 – 18 November 2015) was a South African-born British broadcaster, voice over artist, actor and composer, best known for his work on the ITV network in the United Kingdom over forty years. Biography Redvers Kyle was born in Germiston, South Africa and named after General Sir Redvers Buller, the British military commander in the early stages of the Anglo-Boer War. During his university studies, he began his broadcasting career with the South African Broadcasting Corporation in Johannesburg, mostly in children's programmes, and appeared in dramatic productions including ''Boy with a Cart'', which won him an award at a national drama festival. Kyle emigrated to England in August 1952, and spent a year as a primary school teacher in south London before becoming a freelance radio and television broadcaster. ''The Independent'' is a British online newspaper. It was established in 1986 as a national morning printed paper. Nicknamed the ''Indy'', it began as a broadsheet and changed to tabloid format in 2003. The last printed edition was published on Saturday 26 March 2016, leaving only the online edition. Grampian Television
Grampian Television was the original name of the Channel 3 service for the north of Scotland founded in 1961 and now named STV. The northern region's coverage area includes the Northern Isles, Western Isles, Highlands (except Fort William and Lochaber) Grampian, Tayside (except the Kinross area), and parts of north Fife. Grampian went on the air on 30 September 1961. The company was bought out in 1997 by STV Group (the parent company of STV, the Channel 3 broadcaster in Central Scotland).
