Graham Desmond Kelly (born 9 May 1941) is a former New Zealand politician. Biography Early life and career Kelly was born in Wellington on 9 May 1941. He married and had five children. Kelly was trade unionist and was employed by the Clerical Workers' Union until 1973 when he became secretary of the Shop Employees' Union. Member of Parliament As a trade union member he became involved in the Labour Party, joining the party in 1963 and was a longtime member of the electorate committee. In the lead up to the 1987 general election he stood as a candidate to replace Gerry Wall, the retiring MP for , as the Labour candidate. In a highly contested selection meeting Kelly was chosen ahead of former All Black and local regional councillor Ken Gray. Graham Kelly is an English football administrator. He was secretary of The Football League from 1978 to 1989 and chief executive of The Football Association (FA) from 1989 to 1998. He resigned from The Football Association in December 1998, along with chairman Keith Wiseman, when a scandal broke out over an allegedly improper loan of £3.2 million from the FA to the Football Association of Wales (FAW). Graham Kelly (born 31 October 1991) is an Irish professional footballer currently playing for Essendon Royals. He previously played for Derby County, Bray Wanderers (2 spells), Salthill Devon, Athlone Town and St Patrick's Athletic. Career Early career Kelly began his career playing youth football with Whitechurch United in the Dublin suburb of Rathfarnham. He then joined another Dublin club, Lourdes Celtic in Kimmage. His performances for Lourdes led to a move to EFL Championship side Derby County in 2008. He joined fellow Irishmen Jeff Hendrick, Mark O'Brien and Ryan Connolly among others at Derby's youth setup. After playing in the youth teams for two seasons, Kelly was offered his first professional contract at the club in July 2010, given the number 40 shirt.
