Graciela Mandujano
Graciela Mandujano (1902–1984) was a Chilean politician and feminist. She was the Chilean official delegate to the Pan-American Conference of Women (1922). Biography A graduate from a pedagogical course in the University of Santiago, she was sent by the Chilean government to visit the Panama–Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco, and was the Chilean official delegate to the Pan-American Conference of Women in Baltimore, organized by the National League of Women Voters. Mandujano continued her studies at Columbia University and lived in Varick House Settlement, and was the editor of the ''Pan-American Magazine'' in New York City. A suffragist, in 1922, Mandujano worked with other women to organize the Partido Civico Femenino (Women's Civic Party), which, among its goals, sought the woman's right to vote. Olga Poblete
Olga Poblete de Espinosa (May 21, 1908 – July 17, 1999) was a long-time women's rights activist and feminist in Chile. She was a recipient of the Lenin Peace Prize in 1962. Isabel Morel
Delia Ducoing de Arrate (1885 – ), better known as Isabel Morel, was a Chilean writer, journalist, editor and feminist activist. She was best known for her work on behalf of women's rights in the political, social and civil sphere in Chile since 1914. On October 26, 1927, she founded the Women's Union of Chile in the city of Valparaíso with Gabriela Mandujano and Aurora Argomedo, assuming its presidency on May 6, 1928. As a writer, one of her best known works is the book ''Charlas femeninas'' (1930), one of the first publications which systematized feminist thought in Chile. She also wrote and edited the magazine ''Nosotras'' in the early 1930s. Clara Williams (Chilean Feminist)
Clara Williams (May 3, 1888 – May 8, 1928) was an American silent film actress. Along with Louise Glaum and Dorothy Dalton, she was one of the principal leading ladies at Inceville, one of the first motion picture studios to make feature films in Los Angeles. Williams appeared in more than one hundred films between 1910 and 1918, including starring roles in '' The Italian'' and William S. Hart's western, '' Hell's Hinges'', both of which are included in the National Film Registry. When she married director Reginald Barker at age 31, she retired from acting. Marta Vergara
Marta Vergara Varas (2 January 1898 – 1995) was a Chilean author, editor, journalist and women's rights activist. Introduced to international feminism in 1930, she became instrumental in the development of the Inter-American Commission of Women (CIM) helping gather documentation on laws which effected women's nationality. She pushed Doris Stevens to broaden the scope of international feminism to include working women's issues in the quest for equality. A founding member of the Pro-Emancipation Movement of Chilean Women ( es, Movimiento Pro-Emancipación de las Mujeres de Chile (MEMCh)), she was editor of its monthly bulletin ''La Mujer Nueva''. When she was ousted from the Communist Party she moved to Europe and worked as a journalist during the war. At war's end, she returned to Washington, D.C. and worked at the CIM continuing to press for women's suffrage and equality, before returning to Chile, where she resumed her writing career.
