The Women's road race of the 2016 UCI Road World Championships took place in and around Doha, Qatar on 15 October 2016. The course of the race was with the start and finish in Doha. Lizzie Deignan was the defending champion, having won the world title in 2015. Deignan was unable to defend her title, as she finished fourth in the bunch sprint finish. The Oceania Road Championships are a series of road cycling races held annually to determine the Oceanian champion in each event. The event has been held since 1995 and consists of an elite and under-23 men's and an elite women's road race and time trial. The Tour Down Under (branded as the Santos Tour Down Under under a partnership arrangement) is a cycling race in and around Adelaide, South Australia, and is traditionally the opening event of the UCI World Tour and features all 19 UCI WorldTeams. It also runs as a UCI Women's ProSeries event and features a one-day circuit race as a 'prelude' to the main race. The Cyclists' Alliance or TCA is the labor organization representing professional cyclists in UCI Women's World Tour (UCIWWT) events. The organisation, which operates out of Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, is led by Executive Director Iris Slappendel. Details Founded in December 2017, TCA act as an intermediary between members and the businesses that employ them. The main purpose of the organization is to provide formal representations and give riders the power to negotiate for more favourable working conditions. In addition to conducting labor negotiations, TCA represents and protects the rights of the athletes; the organization's actions include filing grievances on behalf of athletes.
