Goswin De Stassart
Goswin Joseph Augustin, Baron de Stassart (2 September 1780 – 16 October 1854) was a Dutch-Belgian politician. Stassart studied accounting and economics in Paris. In 1804 he became Auditor in the French State Council, in 1805 he became Intendant in Tirol, and in 1807 he served in the French army in Prussia. In 1810 he became Prefect of the Departments of the Vaucluse and in 1811 of the Estuaries of the Meuse. After the second Austrian restoration he lived on his estate near Namur, until the city of Namur in 1822 sent him to the second chamber of parliament of the Netherlands, where he belonged to the opposition. After the outbreak of the Belgian revolution in Brussels in September 1830 he was among the delegates of the southern provinces, which were summoned to The Hague. In 1831 he returned to Belgium, where he became a member of the National Congress and a member of the Provisional Government as well as the Senate. National Congress Of Belgium
The National Congress (french: Congrès national, nl, Nationaal Congres) was a temporary legislative assembly in Belgium, convened in 1830 in the aftermath of the Belgian Revolution. Its purpose was to devise a national constitution for the new state, whose independence had been proclaimed on 4 October 1830 by the self-declared Provisional Government. History The National Congress was elected by approximately 30,000 voters on 3 November 1830 and consisted of 200 members. Its president was Baron Erasme Louis Surlet de Chokier. The assembly chose a constitutional popular monarchy as the form of government for Belgium and chose the son of the French King Louis-Philippe, Louis, Duke of Nemours, as the new head of state. Henri-Eugene-Marie Defacqz (17 September 1797 – 1 December 1871) was a Belgium, Belgian Liberalism, liberal politician and a magistrate. Education He started his education at the college of Ath and completed high school in Dijon, under the direction of the famous Joseph Jacotot (1770–1840), his uncle by marriage. On 22 April 1817, he obtained his diploma of bachelor of law at the Academy of Brussels. Career In 1830, Defacqz embraced without reserves the cause of the Belgian Revolution. The Royal Order of the Polar Star (Swedish: ''Kungliga Nordstjärneorden'') is a Swedish order of chivalry created by King Frederick I on 23 February 1748, together with the Order of the Sword and the Order of the Seraphim. The Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown (german: Verdienstorden der Bayerischen Krone) was an order of merit of the Kingdom of Bavaria established by King Maximilian Joseph I on 19 March 1808.
