Montenegrins
Montenegrins ( cnr, Црногорци, Crnogorci, or ; lit. "Black Mountain People") are a South Slavic ethnic group that share a common Montenegrin culture, history, and language, identified with the country of Montenegro. Genetics According to one triple analysis – autosomal, mitochondrial and paternal — of available data from large-scale studies on Balto-Slavs and their proximal populations, the whole genome SNP data situates Montenegrins with Serbs in between two Balkan clusters. According to a 2020 autosomal marker analysis, Montenegrins are situated in-between Serbians and Kosovo Albanians. Turbo-folk
Turbo-folk (sometimes referred as pop-folk or popular folk) is subgenre of contemporary pop music with its origins in Serbia, that initially developed during the 1980s and 1990s, with similar music styles in Bulgaria (chalga), Romania (manele) and Albania (tallava). It is a fusion genre of popular music, blending Serbian folk music with other genres: such as pop, rock, electronic and some hip-hop. Background and characteristics Turbo-folk music emerged as a subculture in the countryside during the 1970s before migrating to the city in the '80s and eventually reaching further expansion in the '90s during the rule of Slobodan Milošević, Yugoslav Wars, inflation and political isolation. The term was originally coined by Montenegrin musician Rambo Amadeus whilst jokingly referring to his own musical style. Jasmina "Mina" Kostić ( sr-cyr, Јасмина "Мина" Костић; born Minira Jašari, , on 5 May 1975) is a Bosnian-Serbian turbo-folk singer. Early and personal life Mina Kostić was born as Minira Jašari in Orašje in Bosnia and Herzegovina and raised in Ledine neighbourhood of Belgrade, into a Romani family of 10 children. She was adopted at 5 years of age by Evdokija "Duda" Ivanović. Her cousin is rapper Ivan Ivanović-Juice, whose paternal aunt is Duda Ivanović. She changed her name when she was 19 in order to pay less for an Italian visa, together with her brother Enver who changed his name to Dejan.
