Albert Goodyear
Albert C. Goodyear III is an American archaeology, archaeologist who is founder and director of the ''Allendale PaleoIndian Expedition'' in South Carolina, where he has unearthed controversial evidence that may greatly move back the date of occupation of North America by humans to 50,000 years or more before the present. His area of expertise includes the Clovis culture which dates back about 13,000 years in North America. Goodyear has been a professor at the South Carolina Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology, a branch of the University of South Carolina since 1974. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida, a masters from the University of Arkansas, and a PhD from Arizona State University. Langdon Goodyear, Jr
Langdon Webster Goodyear Jr. (June 13, 1924 – October 4, 2006) was a one-term mayor of Eau Gallie, Florida, from December 1955 to December 1956. Early life Langdon Webster Goodyear Jr. was born on June 13, 1924, in Inverness, Florida to Langdon Goodyear, Sr. (1888–1967) and his wife Sara V. Priest (1901–1994). He graduated from Lakeland High School and attended Florida Southern College. In 1960, he graduated from the University of Florida, School of Pharmacy. Career During World War II, he served with the 349th Infantry, 88th Division "Blue Devils". He earned the Bronze Star Medal and the French Liberation Medal. After earning his Pharmacy degree after the War, he horked at Coleman's Pharmacy in Eau Gallie, and in 1956, he opened Goodyear Pharmacy at the corner of Eau Gallie and Highland Avenues. William Henry Goodyear
William Henry Goodyear (1846–1923) was a noted architectural historian, art historian, and museum curator. He was the son of Charles Goodyear (1800–1860), inventor of rubber vulcanization, and Clarissa Beecher Goodyear. Goodyear was born in New Haven, Connecticut, spent much of his childhood in England and France, and graduated from Yale University in 1867 with a degree in history. He then relocated to Italy, then Berlin (where he studied Roman law and history), and subsequently Heidelberg where he studied art history under archaeologist Karl Friedrichs (1831-1871). In 1869 Goodyear traveled with Friedrichs to Syria and Cyprus, then spent 1870 in Venice and Pisa where he studied the Leaning Tower of Pisa. In 1871 he married Sarah Sanford, his first of three wives, and taught at Cooper Union until 1882, when he was hired as first curator of the new Metropolitan Museum of Art. William Goodyear
William Goodyear (May 21, 1865 – June 18, 1936) was an American football coach, newspaper editor, publisher, and politician in Whitman County in eastern Washington. He was the first head coach of the Washington State Cougars football team, holding that position for the 1894 college football season. Goodyear was also a newspaper publisher and editor. Stewart Goodyear (born February 1978) is a Canadian concert pianist and composer. He is best known for performing all 32 Beethoven sonatas in a single day, a feat he has done at Koerner Hall (Toronto), McCarter Theatre (Princeton), the Mondavi Center (Davis, California), the AT&T Performing Arts Center (Dallas), and Memorial Hall (Cincinnati). Early life and education Goodyear was born and raised in Toronto to a Trinidadian mother and British father. He never knew his father, who died from cancer a month before Stewart was born. Scott Goodyear
Scott Goodyear (born December 20, 1959) is a Canadian former race car driver. He ran the Indy Racing League and Champ Car series during his career from 1987, winning the Michigan 500 in 1992 and 1994. Goodyear qualified for eleven runnings of the Indy 500 races from 1990 to 2001, missing only the 1996 race which he did not enter. After starting last (33rd position) in the 1992 race, he finished second to Al Unser Jr. by 0.043 seconds. Goodyear could have won the 1995 race, driving with Tasman Motorsports. But after leading 42 laps, he mistakenly passed the pace car on a late, very slow restart. He was penalized to fourteenth place after ignoring the black flags.
