Alexander John Goodrum
Alexander John Goodrum (1960–2002) was an African-American transgender civil rights activist, writer, and educator. He was the founder and director of TGNet Arizona. He was a board member of the Tucson GLBT Commission, and the Funding Exchange's OUT Fund, which allocates an annual grant named after Goodrum to LGBT community organizing projects such as the Latina lesbian magazine ''Esto no tiene nombre,'' edited in part by tatiana de la tierra. Goodrum was bisexual, disabled, and a trans man, he wrote about his gender influencing spirituality. His "Gender Identity 101: A Transgender Primer" has been reprinted in various forms to educate mainstream society on basic questions regarding transsexual and transgender people. Cartier Niko Goodrum (born February 28, 1992) is an American professional baseball utility player for the Lotte Giants of the KBO League. He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Minnesota Twins, Detroit Tigers and Houston Astros. Charles Randolph Goodrum (born July 7, 1947) is an American songwriter, pianist, and producer. Goodrum has written number one songs in each of the four decades since his first number one hit, 1978's "You Needed Me". Goodrum's songs have appeared on the country, pop, jazz, rock, R&B and adult contemporary charts. An accomplished pianist, his music has been used extensively in film and television. Early life and education Goodrum was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Winnie Goodrum and Bud Goodrum, a physician. He began to play the piano by ear as a small child, imitating his older brother. Goodrum started to take piano lessons at 8, initially studying classical music and later learning to play jazz. He attended Hot Springs High School, where he performed in a jazz trio, the Three Kings. Patrick Hanks (born 24 March 1940) is an English lexicographer, corpus linguist, and onomastician. He has edited dictionaries of general language, as well as dictionaries of personal names. Background Hanks was educated at Ardingly College, University College, Oxford (BA, MA) and Masaryk University (PhD). After graduation from Oxford, he started his lexicographic career as editor of the ''Hamlyn Encyclopedic World Dictionary'' (1971). In 1970, he was appointed editor of ''Collins English Dictionary'' (1979).
