The Golo (; ) is the longest river on the island of Corsica, France, at Course The Golo is long. It crosses the communes of Aiti, Albertacce, Bigorno, Bisinchi, Calacuccia, Campile, Campitello, Canavaggia, Casamaccioli, Castello-di-Rostino, Castirla, Corscia, Gavignano, Lento, Lucciana, Monte, Morosaglia, Olmo, Omessa, Piedigriggio, Prato-di-Giovellina, Prunelli-di-Casacconi, Saliceto, Valle-di-Rostino, Venzolasca, Vescovato, Vignale and Volpajola. The Golo's source is in the mountainous middle of the island, south of Monte Cinto. It flows generally northeast, through Calacuccia and Ponte-Leccia, and ends in the Tyrrhenian Sea approximately south of Bastia, near the Bastia – Poretta Airport. Golo (department)
Golo was a department of France from 1793 to 1811. It was located in the northern and eastern parts of the island of Corsica. The capital was Bastia. The department was named after the river Golo. Golo was created in 1793 by the division of the former department of ''Corse'', which covered the whole island. ''Corse'' was reconstituted in 1811 by re-merging Golo with Liamone. Looc, officially the Municipality of Looc ( tgl, Bayan ng Looc), is a 5th class municipality in the province of Occidental Mindoro, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 7,802 people. The municipality encompasses the eastern half of Lubang Island, as well as Ambil, Golo and some other minor islands. Golo Mann
Golo Mann (born Angelus Gottfried Thomas Mann; 27 March 1909 – 7 April 1994) was a popular German historian and essayist. Having completed a doctorate in philosophy under Karl Jaspers at Heidelberg, in 1933 he fled Hitler's Germany. He followed his father, the writer Thomas Mann and other members of his family in emigrating to France, Switzerland and the United States. From the late 1950s he re-established himself in Switzerland and West Germany as a literary historian. Mann was perhaps best known for his master work ''German History in the 19th and 20th Century'' (1958). A survey of German political history, it emphasised the nihilistic and aberrant nature of the Hitler regime. In his later years, Mann took issue with historians who sought to contextualise the crimes of the regime by comparing them with those of Stalinism in Soviet Union and with wartime Allied bombing. Golo Footwear is a fashion company established in 1915 by the German immigrant Adolf Heilbrunn. The company initially designed and manufactured slippers in Dunmore, Pennsylvania, and was known for experimenting with materials not traditionally used in footwear, such as cork, stretch fabrics, Gore-Tex for rainboots, and clear lucite sandal wedges. Golo is computer software, a programming language for the Java virtual machine (JVM). It is simple, with dynamic, weak typing. It was created in 2012 as part of the research activities of the DynaMid group of the Centre of Innovation in Telecommunications and Integration of service (CITI) Laboratory at Institut national des sciences appliquées de Lyon (INSA).
