The Golden West League is a high school athletic league that is part of the CIF Southern Section. Member schools are public schools in Orange County. The league began play in 1994. Servite, Saddleback, and Tustin High School were founding members, but later left. CIF Southern Section
The California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section (CIF-SS) is the governing body for high school athletics in most of Southern California and is the largest of the ten sections that comprise the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). Its membership includes most public and private high schools in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, and central and southern Santa Barbara counties. At the start of the 2018/9 season, 13 schools from San Luis Obispo County and northern Santa Barbara County left the Southern Section to join the much smaller CIF Central Section. Teams from the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and surrounding areas have competed in the CIF Los Angeles City Section since 1935. CIFSS's offices are located in Los Alamitos. Servite High School
Servite High School is a private, Catholic, all-male college preparatory high school operated by the Order of Friar Servants of Mary on a campus in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area in Anaheim, California, US. It was founded by the Servites in 1958. As of 2017 it had about 9000 alumni. Its mascot is the Friar and its colors are black and white, trimmed with gold. It is located within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange, however, it is not a diocesan school, but is run privately by the Servite Order itself. History in 1958, the Servites responded to an invitation by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles to open a school, teaching the first classes at nearby St. Philip Benizi Elementary School until the first building was completed. Saddleback High School is a six-year IB secondary school located in Santa Ana, California, United States, and is part of the Santa Ana Unified School District. The school was established in 1967. Its mascot is the roadrunner, and its colors are green, gold, and white. The school principal from 2009 to June 2015 was Dr. Robert Laxton. The current principal is Edward Bustamante. Tustin High School is a public high school in Tustin, California, United States. It is part of the Tustin Unified School District. It was established in 1921 as the Tustin Union High School. Garden Grove High School is a public high school located in Garden Grove, California. It is a member of the Garden Grove Unified School District and serves the northeast portion of the city and a small portion of southern Anaheim. Ocean View High School
Ocean View High School (OVHS) is a public comprehensive college-prep academy located in Huntington Beach, California. OVHS was established in 1976; their mascot is the Seahawks. Currently, there are approximately 1,470 enrolled students. It is part of the HBUHSD school district, with five other high schools. The school is unique in that it features the only IB Program in the district. The implementation of “embedded tutorial†at the end of each period two years ago resulted in the biggest drop in the total number of D and F grades for students in the district. Segerstrom High School (English: Help:IPA/English, [ˈsɛgərstrəm]) is a public high school in Santa Ana, California, and is part of the Santa Ana Unified School District, Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD). The school opened in fall of 2005. Wealthy landowner Henry Segerstrom - for whom Segerstrom High School is named - is a familiar name in Orange County.
