Golden Screen TV Awards
Golden Screen TV Awards is a yearly awards night that recognizes the outstanding programs and personalities from different TV networks in the Philippines including ABS-CBN, TV5, GMA Network, among others. It was created in 2004 by the Entertainment Press Society (ENPRESS), a group of entertainment writers from newspapers. Before the awards night (usually held in March), the ENPRESS members are taking reviews and deliberations of the nominees for three months. TV5 (also known as 5 and formerly known as ABC) is a Philippine free-to-air television network based in Mandaluyong, with its alternate studios located in Novaliches, Quezon City. It is the flagship property of TV5 Network, Inc. with Cignal TV as its main content provider, both owned by MediaQuest Holdings, the multimedia arm of Philippine-based telecommunications company PLDT. Helen Vela (October 31, 1946 – February 14, 1992) was a Filipina actress and radio/TV personality. Early life She was born on October 31, 1946, in Manila, Philippines. Career Vela started her career in broadcasting as a radio announcer. She appeared on GMA Network (later BBC) show, ''Lovingly Yours, Helen''. Followed by RPN shows are '' Heredero'' and '' Agila''. PMPC Star Awards for Television is an annual award-giving body recognizing the outstanding programming produced by the several TV networks in the Philippines. It was founded by the Philippine Movie Press Club, an organization of tabloid reporters, in 1987. The PMPC Star Awards for Television is generally held in October (1987-2004, 2006, 2016, 2018-2019 and 2021), November (2007-2014 and 2017) and/or December (2005 and 2015).
