Golda Madden
Golda Madden (July 17, 1886 – October 26, 1960) was an American actress active during Hollywood's silent era. Biography Madden was born in Red Cloud, Nebraska, in 1886. She was a first cousin of actor/director Harold Lloyd on her mother's side. She began appearing in plays in Chicago in the early 1910s and was signed to Mack Sennett's Keystone in 1916. She retired from acting in the early 1920s and afterward enjoyed a rich social life, serving as president of the Velada Club—a women's group—in Hollywood. She also served as production manager for the Little Theater of Beverly Hills in the 1930s. Natalie Golda
Natalie Golda (now Benson, born December 28, 1981) is a former American water polo player and currently the head coach of the newly formed Fresno State Bulldogs water polo team to begin competition in 2018. Considered one of the greatest women's water polo players of all time, her senior leadership helped guide the 2005 UCLA Bruins to their seventh national championship. In May 2005 Golda received the Peter J. Cutino Award, given to the best player in women's collegiate water polo. She was also a member of the US Water Polo Team that won the bronze medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics and the silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In the best-known photograph taken during the 1943 Warsaw Ghetto uprising, a boy holds his hands over his head while '' SS-Rottenführer'' Josef Blösche points a submachine gun in his direction. The boy and others hid in a bunker during the final liquidation of the ghetto, but they were caught and forced out by German troops. After the photograph was taken, all of the Jews in the photograph were marched to the ''Umschlagplatz'' and deported to Majdanek extermination camp or Treblinka. The exact location and the photographer are not known, and Blösche is the only person in the photograph who can be identified with certainty. Golda Schultz (born 1983 in Cape Town) is a South African operatic soprano. Life Origin and education Schultz, daughter of a mathematics professor, grew up in Bloemfontein. Golda Selzer
Golda Selzer (1910–1999) was an academic and pathologist at Groote Schuur Hospital, and co-founder of SHAWCO. Selzer published extensively with over 50 articles of which more than 15 were on poliomyelitis. Early life Golda Selzer was born in Brandfort in the Orange Free State in 1910. She received her MBChB from the University of Cape Town in 1932. Golda was acting superintendent at the City Hospital in Infectious Diseases in 1934 and subsequently joined the Pathology Department at the Medical School of the University of Cape Town at Groote Schuur Hospital. The South African Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) created the Virus Research Unit in the Department of Pathology in 1948 under Professor Van den Ende and Selzer was part of this very dynamic team.
