''Going Equipped'' is an animated short film created by Aardman Animations. It was directed by Peter Lord. Production The short was commissioned by Channel 4 as part of a five-part series of Aardman animations called " Lip Synch". The five films in the series were ''Creature Comforts'' (1989), ''Going Equipped'' (1990), ''Ident'' (1990), ''Next'' (1989) and ''War Story'' (1989). Peter Lord
Peter Lord CBE (born 1953) is an English animator, director, producer and co-founder of the Academy Award-winning Aardman Animations studio, an animation firm best known for its clay-animated films and shorts, particularly those featuring plasticine duo Wallace and Gromit. He also directed '' Chicken Run'' along with Nick Park, and '' The Pirates! Band of Misfits'' which was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 85th Academy Awards. Lord is the producer/executive producer of every Aardman work, including ''Chicken Run'', '' Arthur Christmas'' and '' Flushed Away.'' Life and career Lord was born in Bristol, England. In co-operation with David Sproxton, a friend of his youth at school together in Woking in the 1960s, he realised his dream of "making and taking an animated movie". ''Lip Synch'' is a series of five short films which used vox pops as inspiration for their subject matter. ''Creature Comforts'' is a British adult stop-motion comedy mockumentary franchise originating in a 1989 British humorous animated short film of the same name. The film matched animated zoo animals with a soundtrack of people talking about their homes, making it appear as if the animals were being interviewed about their living conditions. It was created by Nick Park and Aardman Animations. The film later became the basis of a series of television advertisements for the electricity boards in the United Kingdom, and in 2003, a television series in the same style was released. An American version of the series was also made. Derek Robinson (novelist)
Derek Robinson (born 12 April 1932) is a British author best known for his military aviation novels full of black humour. He has also written several books on some of the more sordid events in the history of Bristol, his home town, as well as guides to rugby. He was nominated for the Booker Prize in 1971 for his first novel, ''Goshawk Squadron''. After attending Cotham Grammar School, Robinson served in the Royal Air Force as a fighter plotter, during his National Service. He has a history degree from Cambridge University, where he attended Downing College, has and worked in advertising in the UK and the US and as a broadcaster on radio and television.
