Godda
Godda is a Silk City with a municipal Council in the Godda subdivision of the Godda district in the Indian state of Jharkhand. It is the headquarter of the Godda district. History As a consequence of the Santhal rebellion of 1845-55 the district of Santhal Paragna was created from portions of Bhagalpur and Birbhum. Godda was a part of undivided Santhal Pargana district until 1981 census. Later, the old Godda sub-division of Santhal Pargana was separated and formed as a new district. The district of Godda was created on 17 May 1983 out of old Santhal Pargana district which was upgraded to the level of division. Godda(M), the only one town of the district, is the headquarters of Godda district, Godda subdivision and Godda block. Geography Location Godda is located at . Godda (community Development Block)
Godda is a community development block that forms an administrative division in the Godda subdivision of the Godda district, Jharkhand state, India. Geography Godda, the eponymous CD block headquarters, is located at . Godda district is a plateau region with undulating uplands, long ridges and depressions. The western portion of the Rajmahal hills passes through the district. The plain areas have lost its once rich forests but the hills still retain some. Kajhia, Sunder and Sakri rivers flow through the district. Godda CD block is bounded by Pathargama CD block on the north, Sunderpahari CD block on the east, Poraiyahat CD block on the south, and Dhuraiya and Barahat CD blocks in Banka district of Bihar on the west. Godda District
Godda district (Hindi: गोड्डा जिला, Santali: ᱜᱚᱰᱰᱟ ᱦᱚᱱᱚᱛ) is one of the twenty-four districts of Jharkhand state in eastern India It lies in the northeastern part of the state. The geographical area that now comprises Godda district used to be part of the erstwhile Santhal Parganas district. Godda town is the headquarters of Godda district. The area of the district is 2110 km², with a population of around 1,313,551. Economy Godda is mostly famous for the Rajmahal coalfield in Lalmatia. It is an integral part of Jharkhand and is known for its hills and small forests. The mine present here is an integral part of ECL coalfields and is among the biggest in whole Asia.
