Glup! was a Chilean rock- pop band active in the period 1996–2003. In 1999 the band performed at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival, coming soon afterwards into mainstream popularity in Chile due to their adolescent lyrics and sticky melodies. Freebola, released in 1999, was the group's commercial breakthrough hit. Koko Stambuk
Cristián Daniel Stambuk Sandoval (born March 16, 1977 in Osorno, Chile) better known by his stage name Koko, is a Chilean singer-songwriter and producer, known for being the singer of the band Glup! and producing artists like Kudai, Luis Fonsi, Reik, Denise Rosenthal and Maite Perroni who was also his girlfriend from 2013 to 2020. His parents were Russian immigrants. Career Koko began his career on 1996 being the lead man and songwriter of the Chilean band Glup! until 2002. After the split off of Glup!, Koko participated on the soundtracks of '' En la cama'', ''Cesante'' and '' Los Debutantes''. Along with Cristian Heyne formed the successful pop groups Supernova, Stereo 3, Amango, CRZ, Gufi, Kudai, Six Pack and worked with singers Kel and Denise Rosenthal. Freebola, also known as Chica Light, is a pop rock song by Chilean rock band Glup! featured in their debut album 1999. The name of the song is a portmanteau of the word ''free'' and ''frivolous''. San Carlos is the name of a city and commune (Spanish: ''comuna'') of Punilla Province in the Ñuble Region of Chile. The Biobío Region ( es, Región del Biobío ), is one of Chile's sixteen regions (first-order administrative divisions). Britpop
Britpop was a mid-1990s British-based music culture movement that emphasised Britishness. It produced brighter, catchier alternative rock, partly in reaction to the popularity of the darker lyrical themes of the US-led grunge music and to the UK's own shoegaze music scene. The movement brought British alternative rock into the mainstream and formed the backbone of a larger British popular cultural movement, Cool Britannia, which evoked the Swinging Sixties and the British guitar pop of that decade. I Gufi ("The Owls", also spelled just as Gufi) was an Italian musical and comedy ensemble, mainly successful in the second half of the 1960s. Career The group formed in Milan between 1963 and 1964, and debuted on stage with the show "I Gufi cantano due secoli di Resistenza" (i.e. "The Owls sing Two Centuries of Resistance").
