Global Wars (2014)
Global Wars was a professional wrestling supershow co-produced by the American Ring of Honor (ROH) and Japanese New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) promotions. The event took place on May 10, 2014, at the Ted Reeve Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and aired live on internet pay-per-view (iPPV) through Ustream. The event was originally billed as "Border Wars", a name ROH had used for events in 2012 and 2013. With the exception of one interpromotional match, wrestlers from NJPW and ROH were kept separated from each other with the bookers from each promotion handling their own half of the show. The event featured nine matches with three championships on the line; two from ROH and one from NJPW. In the undercard of the event, The Young Bucks retained the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship and Jay Lethal the ROH World Television Championship. New Japan Pro-Wrestling
(NJPW) is a Japanese professional wrestling promotion based in Nakano, Tokyo. Founded on January 13, 1972, by Antonio Inoki, the promotion was sold to Yuke's, who later sold it to Bushiroad in 2012. Hunter Johnston (born December 19, 1980) is an American professional wrestler, better known by his ring name Delirious, currently signed to Impact Wrestling. He is known for his outrageous antics, such as running around aimlessly and screaming wildly when the opening ring bell sounds, and speaking in a rambling and mostly incoherent fashion. Kevin Steen (born May 7, 1984) is a Canadian professional wrestler. He is currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the Raw brand under the ring name Kevin Owens.
