Glenn Schwartz
Glenn W. Schwartz (March 20, 1940 – November 2, 2018) was an American guitarist who first came to the attention of rock music audiences as the original guitar player of the James Gang, based in Cleveland, Ohio. Career Schwartz left the James Gang in late December 1967 when he moved to California. He later joined the Los Angeles-based blues band Pacific Gas & Electric and, in 1970, scored a national top 20 hit with the song " Are You Ready?". Tired of the rock and role lifestyle, he left PG&E to join a pioneering Gospel rock group All Saved Freak Band, which was the musical evangelistic arm of an Ohio religious group-turned-cult, the Church of the Risen Christ, headed by Larry Hill. Schwartz's life in this cult with Rev. Larry Hill is explored in the book, ''Fortney Road: Life, Death, and Deception in a Christian Cult'' by Jeff C. Stevenson (2015). Arthur Blessitt
Arthur Owen Blessitt (born October 27, 1940) is a traveling Christian preacher who is known for carrying a cross through every nation of the world. Biography Early life and career Blessitt was born in Greenville, Mississippi, and grew up in northeast Louisiana, where his father managed a large cotton farm. At the age of seven, Blessitt became a Christian. He studied at Mississippi College and Golden Gate Baptist Seminary, but abandoned his studies to serve as a pastor in several Baptist churches across the US. In the late 1960s, Blessitt began preaching in Hollywood, California. There he became known as the "Minister of Sunset Strip". In March 1968, he opened a coffee house called ''His Place'' in a rented building next door to a topless go-go club. Janis Joplin
Janis Lyn Joplin (January 19, 1943 – October 4, 1970) was an American singer and musician. One of the most successful and widely known Rock music, rock stars of her era, she was noted for her powerful mezzo-soprano vocals and "electric" stage presence. In 1967, Joplin rose to fame following an appearance at Monterey Pop Festival, where she was the lead singer of the then little-known San Francisco psychedelic rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company.
