Glenn Dubin
Glenn Russell Dubin (born April 13, 1957) is a billionaire hedge fund manager and the Principal of Dubin & Co. LP, a private investment company. He is the co-founder of Highbridge Capital Management, an alternative asset management company based in New York City, and a founding board member of the Robin Hood Foundation. Early life Glenn Russell Dubin was born to a middle-class family in the Washington Heights section of upper Manhattan. He is the oldest son of Harvey and Edith Dubin. His father, Harvey (1926–2011), a Russian Jew, was a taxi driver, who later worked in dress manufacturing. Highbridge Capital Management, LLC is a multi-strategy alternative investment management firm founded by Glenn Dubin and Henry Swieca in 1992. Modern portfolio theory (MPT), or mean-variance analysis, is a mathematical framework for assembling a portfolio of assets such that the expected return is maximized for a given level of risk. It is a formalization and extension of diversification in investing, the idea that owning different kinds of financial assets is less risky than owning only one type.
