Glenn Doyle
Glenn Doyle (born 3 March 1965 in Sydney, New South Wales) is a retired Australian Motorcycle speedway rider. Doyle is a twice Australian Champion and won the Western Australian Championship in his adopted state on six occasions. Career Australia Glenn Doyle began his speedway career in the mid-1980s in Perth, Western Australia, and quickly rose to prominence as WA's best solo rider, becoming a regular winner at the Claremont Speedway. He first won the WA State Championship in 1989 and went on to win that years Australian Championship on the opposite side of the country at the Newcastle Motordrome in Newcastle, NSW. Going into the final heat of the night (Heat 20), Doyle needed a win to take the title. He was in second place behind NSW rider Mick Poole going into the last lap, but pulled off a miraculous pass on the final turn to win his maiden Australian championship. Claremont Speedway
The Claremont Speedway was a racing circuit in the grounds of the Claremont Showground in the suburb of Claremont in Western Australia's capital city of Perth. The speedway held its first meeting on 14 May 1927, and its final meeting on 31 March 2000. History Barriers and fences were improved over time to prevent out of control vehicles from entering the spectator areas. During its 72-year operation the speedway hosted numerous Western Australian championships as well as national championships including the Australian Sprintcar Championship, the Australian Speedcar Championship, the Australian Super Sedan Championship, the Australian Solo Championship, and the Australian Sidecar Championship. North Arm Speedway was the first dedicated motorcycle speedway ever built in Adelaide, South Australia and was located in the industrial suburb of Gillman, South Australia, Gillman. It was run by the Speedway Riders' Association of South Australia and ran from 1981 until its forced closure in 1997. 1992 Australian Individual Speedway Championship
The 1992 Australian Individual Speedway Championship was the 1992 version of the Australian Individual Speedway Championship organised by Motorcycling Australia. The final took place on 26 January 1992 at the North Arm Speedway in Adelaide, South Australia. The championship was won by Mildura's Leigh Adams who won the first of his record 10 national championships. Shane Parker from Adelaide was second (and the only rider who defeated Adams on the night) with Queensland's Mark Carlson in third place. 1991 Australian Individual Speedway Championship
The 1991 Australian Individual Speedway Championship was the 1991 version of the Australian Individual Speedway Championship organised by Motorcycling Australia. The final took place on 27 January at the Arunga Park Speedway in Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. Sydney's Craig Boyce won his first Australian championship from defending champion Glenn Doyle with veteran Glyn Taylor third (both from Perth, WA). Craig Boyce
Craig Boyce (born 2 August 1967 in Sydney, Australia) was a motorcycle speedway rider who primarily rode for the Poole Pirates in the British Elite League. After retiring from riding, Boyce became manager of the Australian national team until 2012. Boyce is a three-time Australian Solo Champion. He won all of his championships (1991, 1996 and 1997) with a 15-point maximum.
