Glenda Morejón
Glenda Estefania Morejón Quiñónez (born 30 May 2000) is an Ecuadorian racewalker. On 27 July 2017, she won the 5000m category of the IAAF World U18 Championships, becoming the second female Ecuadorian athlete to do so. Biography Glenda Morejón was born on 30 May 2000 in Ibarra, Ecuador. She was educated in Ibarra at the Tarquino Jaramillo School. Glenda Morejón comes from a family of medium-low social status, her father Luis Morejón is a professional, in addition to helping with domestic chores, her mother María del Carmen Quiñónez works in the 24 de Mayo market in the city of Otavalo and her sister María Belén, who follows in her footsteps is a walker. Neisi Patricia Barrera Dájomes (born 12 May 1998) is an Ecuadorian weightlifter, 2020 Tokyo 76 kg Olympic Champion, 4 time Pan American Champion, Pan American Games Champion and 3 time Junior World Champion competing 75 kg category until 2018 and 76 kg starting in 2018 after the International Weightlifting Federation reorganized the categories. Álex Quiñónez
Álex Leonardo Quiñónez Martínez (11 August 1989 – 22 October 2021) was an Ecuadorian sprinter who competed in the 100 metres and 200 metres. Shot to death in October 2021, he was the second runner to be murdered that month, alongside fellow bronze medalist Agnes Tirop. He won the 100 m and 200m at the 2012 Ibero-American Championships in Athletics, with his 20.34s national record in the 200 m qualifying him for the Olympics. He ran a new Ecuadorian national record of 20.28 s in the heats of the 200 metres at the 2012 Summer Olympics and qualified himself for the final. He finished seventh in the final. Quiñónez won the bronze medal at the 2019 World Championships in the 200 metres event. He qualified to represent Ecuador at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the 200m in Tokyo but was provisionally suspended for "whereabouts failures" less than a month before the games began.
