Glen Hugill
Alwyn Glenn Hugill (born 8 February 1970 in Darlington, County Durham) is an English television presenter, actor, musician and producer. He is best known for playing policeman Alan McKenna in '' Coronation Street'' during the 1990s, presenting '' The Mole'' and as the executive producer and Banker on ''Deal or No Deal''. He is managing director of the independent TV production company, Possessed. He grew up in Barnard Castle and was educated at the independent Barnard Castle School and Christ Church, Oxford. In 1980, as a ten-year-old schoolboy, he scored a 207 in a national IQ test designed for under 16s. It was the highest recorded result in the country. Darlington is a market town in the Borough of Darlington, County Durham, England. The River Skerne flows through the town; it is a tributary of the River Tees. The Tees itself flows south of the town. In the 19th century, Darlington underwent substantial industrial development, spurred by the establishment there of the world's first permanent steam-locomotive-powered passenger railway: the Stockton and Darlington Railway. Much of the vision (and financing) behind the railway's creation was provided by local Quaker families in the Georgian and Victorian eras. ''Deal or No Deal'' is a British game show, hosted by Noel Edmonds, which aired from 31 October 2005 to 23 December 2016 on Channel 4. Based on the original Netherlands format of the game show, each episode sees a contestant choosing one of 22 boxes, each containing a cash amount between 1p to £250,000, and then attempting to win as much as possible either by gambling on having a high amount in their chosen box, or making the game's hidden operator, named "the Banker", offer a considerable cash sum for their box regardless of what is inside. ''Pointless'' is a British television quiz show produced by Banijay subsidiary Remarkable Television for the BBC. It is hosted by Alexander Armstrong. In each episode four teams of two contestants attempt to find correct but obscure answers to four rounds of general knowledge questions with the winning team eligible to compete for the show's cash jackpot. All questions used on the show are factual in nature and are asked of a panel of 100 individuals in a pre-conducted public survey. A correct answer scores one point for each survey subject who gave it and the objective is to achieve as low a score as possible. ''Pick Me!'' is a British game show that aired on ITV from 19 October to 20 November 2015 and is hosted by Stephen Mulhern and voiced by Roy Walker, both of whom have presented ''Catchphrase''. Format Mulhern picks three contestants out of the audience, who are wearing flashy outfits in an attempt to be noticed by Mulhern. He will then pick a fourth.
