Glais Stadium was a sports stadium and greyhound racing in Glais, near Swansea Swansea (; cy, Abertawe ) is a coastal city and the second-largest city of Wales. The stadium was built in 1928 and was situated on the northern edge of Glais near Glais Bridge. Greyhound racing was originally introduced in 1927 by the Welsh Racing and Athletic Association but was wound up in October 1928. It re-opened in late 1928 following the decision by the Swansea Corporation not to allow racing in the town centre at the St Helens ground. Glais
Glais is a semi-rural village in Swansea, South Wales. ''Nant-y-Pal'' is a stream running through the middle of Glais. It divides the village into two electoral wards: to the north of the stream, Glais is under the Clydach Electoral Ward; to the south, Glais is under the Llansamlet Electoral Ward. The village is shared between the communities of Clydach and Birchgrove. Glais is within the Swansea East UK Parliament constituency and is represented by the Labour MP, Carolyn Harris. The population is a little more than 1,000. The word 'glais' is one of the Welsh words for stream and is a common element in Welsh place-names.
