Gladstone Park is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, north-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Hume local government area. Gladstone Park recorded a population of 8,213 at the 2021 census. Gladstone Park is bounded by the Tullamarine Freeway and Mickleham Road to the west, Broadmeadows Road to the north, the Jacana Valley to the east and the Western Ring Road to the south. History The Broadmeadows district was originally home to the Wurundjeri nation of Indigenous Australians. European settlement of the area now known as Gladstone Park began in the 1840s, with the land used for agriculture. The modern suburb is named after Thomas Gladstone, who was a local land owner in the 1800s. Development of the residential suburb began in the 1960s as an estate of Tullamarine. The electoral district of Sunbury is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly in Australia. It was created in the redistribution of electoral boundaries in 2013, and came into effect at the 2014 state election. John Joseph "Jack" Ginifer (31 August 1927 – 9 July 1982) was an Australian politician. Ginifer was born in Warracknabeal, Victoria to Joseph Ginifer, a Singer sewing machine salesman from England, and Agnes Harper. __NOTOC__ The Moonee Ponds Creek Trail is a shared use path for cyclists and pedestrians, which follows the Moonee Ponds Creek through the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. History A public meeting called by State Member of Parliament for Pascoe Vale, Kelvin Thompson in 1989 to discuss future of Moonee Ponds Creek's future, was attended by more than 50 people and indicated active community investment in its protection and improvement. Gladstone Park Secondary College is a public state school in Melbourne, founded in 1975. Introduction The school has around More than 1500 students, a figure which has remained roughly constant for over a decade. When it first opened, Gladstone Park Secondary School (GPSC) quickly became the largest school in terms of matriculated students within a 10 km radius, a position which it still holds today.
