Gjerpen Idrettsforening is a sports club in Skien, Norway. It was founded in 1918. Among the club's activities are handball, skiing and athletics. In handball the club's women's team has won the National championships several times. Notable players are Kjerstin Andersen, Hanne Hegh and Siri Eftedal. Skien
Skien () is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county in Norway. In modern times it is regarded as part of the traditional region of Grenland, although historically it belonged to Grenmar/Skiensfjorden, while Grenland referred the Norsjø area and Bø. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Skien. Skien is also the capital of Vestfold og Telemark county. Anja Hammerseng-Edin
Anja Hammerseng-Edin (born 5 February 1983) is a former Norwegian handball player. She previously played for Larvik HK and for the Norwegian national team. Career Hammerseng-Edin made her début on the Norwegian national team in 2006, and played 59 matches and scored 143 goals between 2006 and 2013. She represented Norway when the team won a bronze medal at the 2009 World Women's Handball Championship in China, as well as winning a silver medal at the 2012 European Women's Handball Championship in Serbia. She was also part of the National team at the 2013 World Women's Handball Championship. She retired from her handball career in 2017, and currently works as a conference speaker. Camilla Nordberg Thorsen (born 30 December 1975) is a Norwegian team handball player who played for the Norwegian clubs IL Bergkameratene, Gjerpen, Tertnes and Nordnes, the German club HC Leipzig, and the Danish clubs Viborg HK and Ikast-Bording. Mia Hundvin
Mia Terese Hundvin (born 7 March 1977) is a former Norwegian handball player. Career Hundvin played 73 matches for Norway's national handball team in addition to playing for professional clubs. She was part of national teams that won the European Women's Handball Championship in 1998, the World Women's Handball Championship in 1999, and Olympic bronze in 2000. Hundvin scored the game-winner as Norway beat South Korea, 22-21. She became pregnant by partner Terje Haakonsen in 2003, which interrupted her playing for the Danish team Aalborg DH. Emilie Hegh Arntzen (born 1 January 1994) is a Norwegian handball player for CSM București and the Norwegian national team. She previously played for Herkules, Gulset and Gjerpen IF. Heidi Løke
Heidi Løke (born 12 December 1982) is a Norwegian handball player for Larvik HK and the Norwegian national team. Among her achievements as club player are national championships, a silver medal in the EHF Women's Cup Winners' Cup, and winner of the EHF Women's Champions League several times. Career Club career Løke was born in Tønsberg and grew up in Sandefjord where she started to play handball at the age of ten. She played for Runar, Larvik, Gjerpen and Aalborg DH before she again played for Larvik between 2008 and 2011. She was top scorer in the Norwegian League in the 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 seasons, and was selected Player of the Year in the league both in 2008/2009 and in 2009/2010. Team Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end.
