Giri Kanye
''Giri Kanye'' is a 1977 Indian Kannada-language drama film directed by the Dorai–Bhagavan duo. It is based on the novel ''Girikannika'' by Bharathisutha. The film stars Rajkumar, Jayamala and Vajramuni. The film was a musical blockbuster with all the songs composed by Rajan–Nagendra considered evergreen hits. The movie saw a theatrical run of 25 weeks. Rajinikanth was initially selected to play the villain's role which was eventually played by Vajramuni. Dorai–Bhagavan
Dorai–Bhagavan were an Indian filmmaking duo consisting of directors B. Dorai Raj (died 2000) and S. K. Bhagavan (born 1933), active mainly in Kannada cinema. They directed fifty films, most of which starred Dr. Rajkumar, Rajkumar and were highly successful at box-office. Twenty-three of those films were based on novels. Bhagavan has been principal of Adarsha Film Institute, Bangalore. Film career S.K Bhagavan was born on 5 July 1933. He completed his schooling in Bangalore High school. Jayamala
Jayamala (born 28 February 1955) is an Indian actress and politician. She served as the Minister for Women and Child Development and Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens in the Government of Karnataka, by virtue of being a member of the Karnataka Legislative Council. She served as the female president of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce between 2008 and 2010. Her popular Kannada films include ''Premada Kanike , Shankar Guru, Antha and Chandi Chamundi'' among several others. She has produced and acted in the award-winning ''Thaayi Saheba''. Vajramuni
Sadananda Sagar (11 May 1944 – 5 January 2006), better known by his stage name Vajramuni, was an Indian actor who appeared in Kannada films. He portrayed negative characters during most of his career and was considered one of Kannada cinema's finest actors. Over his career, he came to be known for his "thundering voice and sterling performance that earned him the epithets, ''Nata Bhairava'' and ''Nata Bhayankara''. Vajramuni began his career as a stage actor and gained popularity with his portrayal of Ravana in Kanagal Prabhakar Shastri's play ''Prachanda Ravana''. Rajan–Nagendra
Rajan–Nagendra were an Indian musical duo who were prominent composers of film music in Kannada and Telugu cinema from the late 1950s to the early 1990s. Rajan, along with his brother Nagendra, created a niche for themselves for nearly four decades. The duo scored music for about 375 films, over 200 of them in Kannada and the remainder in other languages like Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Tulu, Hindi and Sinhala. Thoogudeepa Srinivas
Mysore Srinivas (17 April 1943 – 16 October 1995), known by his stage name Thoogudeepa Srinivas was an Indian actor who appeared in Kannada films and is remembered for his portrayal of negative-shaded characters. He is the father of actor, Darshan and film director Dinakar. Early life Srinivas was born to Muniswami and Parvathamma in 1943 as their fourth son. He had eight siblings. He lost his parents at a young age. Right from his childhood days, Srinivas was interested in theatre and cinema and was a regular participant in his school and college plays.
