Giorgos Petridis
Giorgos Petridis ( el, Γιώργος Πετρίδης; 10 February 1938 – 2 February 2017) was a Greek professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder and a later manager. Club career Petridis started his career at Pera Club in the local divisions of Athens and with his impressive performances and his talent he attracted the interest of the big teams. In 1957, the doctor and vice-president of AEK Athens, Loutsidis, who knew him, mediated his transfer to the club, which took place under the presidency of Nikos Goumas. AEK gave some sports equipment to Pera Club, as exchange for his transfer. Petridis joined a very strong AEK with great players, such as Nestoridis, Poulis, Kanakis, Emmanouilidis. Ampelokipoi, Athens
Ampelokipoi or Ampelokipi (, ), meaning 'vineyards', is a large, central district of the city of Athens. Ampelokipoi is in the center of Athens, near Zografou, Goudi, Psychiko and Pagkrati. The area is famous for hosting Panathinaikos's home ground since it was inaugurated in 1922. Two metro stations are located in the district: the Ambelokipi station and the Panormou station. Vittore Martini
Vittore "Rino" Martini (22 April 1912 – 17 January 1993) was an Italian footballer who played as a goalkeeper and a later manager. Club career Martini began his football career in 1931 at Ternana, playing as a goalkeeper. In 1932 he was transferred to Juventus Trapani for one season and then he played at U.S. Catanzaro 1929 for three years, where he won his only title of his career, the Serie C1 in 1936. Then he made the big step of his career joining the hometown club, Milan, which it is also the peak moment in his career. At Milan he played for three seasons as a back-up goalkeeper, before returning to the club that he first played, Ternana for one season. Todor Veselinović
Todor "Toza" Veselinović (, ; 22 October 1930 – 17 May 2017) was a Serbian footballer and coach. He was one of the most renowned goalscorers in Yugoslavian history. Veselinović was the last surviving member of Yugoslavia's 1954 World Cup squad. He also won a silver medal at the 1956 Summer Olympics. Career Playing career At international level, he won 37 caps and scored 28 goals. He played in the 1954 FIFA World Cup and 1958 FIFA World Cup, scoring three goals in the latter tournament. Tryfon Tzanetis
Tryfon Tzanetis () was a Greek international football player and a later manager. He was best known as a great figure for AEK Athens during the 30's and 40's, partnering Kleanthis Maropoulos in AEK's front line. Tzanetis also contributed to AEK by coaching the club during the 50's and 60's. Early life Tzanetis was born in 1918 in Smyrna (today's Izmir), from Naxian parents. After the Asia Minor disaster, his family moved to Athens and installed at the district of Nea Ionia. Club career Tzanetis started playing football in 1932 at Eleftheroupoli. In 1933, AEK Athens scouted him and he signed a sport's card with the club. He started from the youth teams of AEK where he was promoted to the first team in 1935, alongside Maropoulos and participated in an official match. Dimitrios "Mimis" Papaioannou ( el, Δημήτριος "Μίμης" Παπαϊωάννου; born 23 August 1942) is a Greek former professional football player, who played as a forward, mostly for AEK Athens and a former manager. His nickname was "The Vlach" ''(Greek: "ο Βλάχος")'', due to his origin. Jenő Csaknády
Jenő Csaknády (20 September 1924 – 7 January 2001) was a Hungarian football manager. Csaknády studied football at the Budapest Sports Academy for 8 semesters, while for 8 years he was the coach of the Hungarian team Czepel. He wrote a book about the art of football, alongside Márton Bukovi, which was recognized within international football circles. After the Soviet invasion of Hungary in 1956, Csaknády fled to Germany and received German citizenship.
