Gino Parin
Federico Guglielmo Jehuda Pollack, known as Gino Parin (25 August 1876, in Trieste – 9 June 1944, in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, Bergen-Belsen) was an Italian painter of Jewish ancestry; known primarily for his portraits of women. He was also known as Friedrich Pollak or Polak. Biography He began his studies in his home town with Eugenio Scomparini (who may have inspired his pseudonym), then attended the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. SIKART is a biographical dictionary and a database on visual art in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. It is published online by the Swiss Institute for Art Research (SIAR). Conceptually and in content, it is an expanded and continually updated online version of the SIAR's 1998 ''Biographical Lexicon of Swiss Art'', which featured 12,000 short entries and some 1,100 detailed biographical articles. Scope SIKART states that it is aimed at both specialists and members of the general public with an interest in art.
