Giltbrook
Giltbrook is a village in England situated approximately northwest of Nottingham and within close reach of junction 26 of the M1 motorway. It is part of Greasley (Giltbrook and Newthorpe) ward, which had a population of 6,076 in 2001, increasing to 6,233 at the 2011 Census. The name Giltbrook is believed to come from the old English name "Gylden Broc", which means golden stream, or brook. This relates to the brook that runs from the fields to the north of IKEA, and then continues under Nottingham Road at Giltbrook, and under the IKEA entrance, finally flowing into the River Erewash. Notable events include Giltbrook being the end point of the Pentrich rising where a small force of soldiers: twenty men of the 15th Regiment of Light Dragoons ended the rising. Greasley
Greasley is a civil parish north west of Nottingham in Nottinghamshire, England. Although it is thought there was once a village called Greasley, there is no settlement of that name today as it was destroyed by the Earl of Rutland. The built up areas in the parish are Beauvale, Giltbrook, Moorgreen (often confused with Greasley), Newthorpe, Watnall and parts of Eastwood, Kimberley and Nuthall. There is also a small hamlet known as Bog-End. The parish is one of the largest in Nottinghamshire at , and the 2001 UK Census reported it had a total population of 10,467, increasing to 11,014 at the 2011 Census. Pentrich Rising
The Pentrich Revolution (also known as the Pentrich Rising) was an armed uprising in 1817 that began around the village of Pentrich, Derbyshire, in the United Kingdom. It occurred on the night of 9–10 June 1817. While much of the planning took place in Pentrich, two of the three ringleaders were from South Wingfield and the other was from Sutton in Ashfield; the 'revolution' itself started from Hunt's Barn in South Wingfield, and the only person killed died in Wingfield Park. A gathering of some two or three hundred men (stockingers, quarrymen and iron workers), led by Jeremiah Brandreth ('The Nottingham Captain', an unemployed stockinger), set out from South Wingfield to march to Nottingham. Bartley Gorman V (1 March 1944 – 18 January 2002) was a bare-knuckle boxer. A Welsh Irish Traveller, Gorman called himself "the King of the Gypsies". Between 1972 and 1992, he reigned supreme in the world of illegal gypsy boxing. During these years, he fought down a mineshaft, in a quarry, at horse fairs, on campsites, in bars and clubs, and in the streets. The title King of the Gypsies has been claimed or given over the centuries to many different people. It is both culturally and geographically specific. It may be inherited, acquired by acclamation or action, or simply claimed. The extent of the power associated with the title varied; it might be limited to a small group in a specific place, or many people over large areas. Darren George Henry (born 4 August 1968) is a British politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Broxtowe since 2019. A member of the Conservative Party, he defeated the outgoing MP and former leader of Change UK, Anna Soubry. Henry briefly served as an Assistant Government Whip from September to October 2022.
