Tom Gilson (New York City; January 6, 1934 – Van Nuys, California; October 6, 1962) was an American actor in TV and occasional films from the 1950s. Biography Born in New York City, the tall, powerfully built Gilson played roles in TV western series such as ''Maverick'', '' Lawman'', ''Tales of Wells Fargo'', ''Bat Masterson'' and ''Cheyenne'', but perhaps his best-remembered part was in an episode of the classic sitcom ''The Phil Silvers Show'', in which he played a variation on Elvis Presley named "Elvin Pelvin." In 1960 Gilson appeared as Deputy Sheriff Babe Riker on ''Cheyenne'' in the episode titled "Alibi for the Scalped Man." Gilson Manuel Silva Alves (born 18 March 1987 in Fogo), sometimes known as Ja, is a Cape Verdean football forward, as of 2013 who plays for Olympique du Kef in the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 2. His first youth club was Batuque, he participated in two other clubs abroad, Rapid Bucharest and Nadi al-Jazira in the Emirates, likely the first Cape Verdean player to participate in the youth player. Gilson Silva appeared in the senior level and his first two clubs were of his nation, Batuque FC in the early part of the 2004–05 season and later Botafogo FC from Fogo. David Leslie Gilson Lavis ( , born 27 June 1951, Bedford, England) is an English drummer and portrait artist. He gained fame as the drummer with band Squeeze in the 1970s and 80s. Lavis is currently the drummer for Jools Holland's Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, with former Squeeze bandmate Jools Holland. Before joining Squeeze, he had already built up a substantial amount of experience, having toured with Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis and Dolly Parton. He was working in a brickyard when he noticed the advertisement in ''Melody Maker'' for Squeeze. Lavis now tours around the United Kingdom with Jools Holland, his long-term musical partner. Thomas Gilson, Jr (born November 6, 1988) is an American football wide receiver for the Jacksonville Sharks of the National Arena League (NAL). He played college football at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He has been a member of the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks, Cleveland Gladiators, Los Angeles Kiss, Portland Steel and Washington Valor. Early years Gilson played high school football at Mansfield High School in Mansfield, Massachusetts. He lettered two years each at quarterback and wide receiver. Paul Gilson (Brussels, 15 June 1865 – Brussels, 3 April 1942) was a Belgian musician and composer. Biography Paul Gilson was born in Brussels. In 1866, his family moved to Ruisbroek in the Belgian province of Brabant. There he studied theory with the organist and choir director Auguste Cantillon, and began writing works for orchestra and choir. His first official training came from 1887–1889 under François-Auguste Gevaert in composition and under Charles Duyck in harmony and counterpoint at the Brussels Conservatory, and in 1889, he was awarded the Belgian ''Prix de Rome'' for a cantata, ''Sinaï'', which was very well received.
