Gilles Bastié (born 9 February 1971) is a former professional tennis player from France. Biography Bastié competed on the professional tour in the 1990s. Most of his ATP Tour main draw appearances came in the doubles format and he made two semi-finals. This included the Bordeax Open of 1992, which he and Jordi Burillo opened with a win over Björn Borg, who was making a tour comeback, and his partner John Lloyd. On the singles tour he qualified twice for the main draw at Bordeax, in 1994 and 1995. Tennis
Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. The ATP Bordeaux is a defunct men's tennis tournament that was held annually under variations of the name Grand Prix Passing Shot and was part of the Grand Prix tennis circuit tour from (1979-1989) it then became an ATP Tour event until 1995. The tournament was played on two different surfaces during its tenure: clay from 1979 through 1990 and hard from 1991 through 1995. Jordi Burillo
Jordi Burillo Puig (; born 7 December 1972) is a retired tennis player from Spain. He won one singles title and a doubles title on the ATP Tour in his career. His style was very aggressive and powerful, hitting always the ball and serving very hard. He won the title in Bologna and played the final of Florence in 1993. In 1995, he played his last final of ATP level until his retirement, in Palermo. In 1997, Burillo won the Open Castilla y León, considered best Challenger of the world by this date. And, this year, the court was so fast (and consequently his game, and his hits) that only Francisco Clavet (semifinals) could end his match against Burillo. Björn Borg
Björn Rune Borg (; born 6 June 1956) is a Swedish former world No. 1 tennis player. Between 1974 and 1981, he became the first man in the Open Era to win 11 Grand Slam singles titles with six at the French Open and five consecutively at Wimbledon. Borg won four consecutive French Open titles (1978–81) and is 6–0 in French Open finals. He was the first man since 1886 to contest six consecutive Wimbledon finals, a record surpassed by Roger Federer's seven consecutive finals (2003–09). He is the only man to achieve the Channel Slam three times. Borg contested the French Open, Wimbledon and US Open finals in the same year three times (1978, 1980–81). John Lloyd (tennis)
John Lloyd (born 27 August 1954) is a British former professional tennis player. Lloyd reached an ATP world ranking of 21 from 23 July 1978 to 30 July 1978, and was ranked as UK number 1 in 1984 and 1985. He now works as a sports commentator. During his career, he reached one Grand Slam singles final and won three Grand Slam mixed doubles titles with tennis partner Wendy Turnbull: the French Open in 1982 and Wimbledon in 1983 and 1984. Also, Lloyd scored 27 wins and 24 losses with the Great Britain Davis Cup team. Lionel Barthez (born 18 May 1967) is a former professional tennis player from France. Barthez competed in four Grand Slams during his career. In the 1994 French Open he took the first two sets off world number 31 Ronald Agenor but lost in five. He and partner Stéphane Sansoni were unable to progress past the first round in the doubles. His next appearance was at the 1995 French Open, where he lost in the opening round to Norwegian player Christian Ruud and also failed to win a match in the men's doubles, partnering Thierry Guardiola. He also took part in the mixed doubles with Isabelle Demongeot and made the second round. Claude N'Goran (born 18 March 1975) is a former professional tennis player from the Ivory Coast. Biography Born in Adzopé, N'Goran grew up in a family of 13 in the city of Abidjan, the son of an auto factory worker and a homemaker. He learned to play tennis with self-made wooden paddles, as they couldn't afford proper rackets. One of his seven brothers is tennis player Clement N'Goran. N'Goran, a big serving left-handed player, is the most capped Ivorian Davis Cup representative in history.
