Gillard (kart Manufacturer)
Gillard is a British kart manufacturer founded by Tim Gillard to build chassis for 100 cc and 125 cc karts. Gillard have won several European championships in partnership with the Peter de Bruijn's racing team. The Gillard's most recent success was in the 2005 Karting World Championship where the Gillard-supported PDB team won with British driver Oliver Oakes, and Danish driver Michael Christensen won the European Junior Championship in the same year. Before that Carlo Van Dam and Nick De Bruijn (both Dutch) won the European Formula A Championship in 2001 and 2004 respectively. Kart Racing
Kart racing or karting is a road racing variant of motorsport with open-wheel, four-wheeled vehicles known as go-karts or shifter karts. They are usually raced on kart circuit, scaled-down circuits, although some professional kart races are also held on full-size motorsport circuits. A chassis (, ; plural ''chassis'' from French châssis ) is the load-bearing framework of an artificial object, which structurally supports the object in its construction and function. Karting World Championship
The Karting World Championship is a kart racing competition organised by the CIK-FIA. It is held annually since 1964, and is karting's flagship event. The FIA (International Automobile Federation) created the CIK (International Karting Commission) in 1962. The Current President of the Championship is former Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa. The first two World Championships in 1964 and 1965 were held over one final round, there after the world's best kart drivers competed for the title over an extended weekend, from Thursday to Saturday, including free and qualifying practice sessions, qualification heats, a pre-final and a final were common. Oliver Oakes
Oliver "Oli" Oakes is a British former racing driver, entrepreneur and team principal and director of Hitech GP. He was the 2005 World Karting champion, and was once a part of the Red Bull Junior Team. Oakes moved into team management when he set up his first karting team in 2011 before launching junior single-seater racing team Hitech GP in 2015. Michael Christensen (racing Driver)
Michael Klitgaard Christensen (born 28 August 1990) is a Danish racing driver. He is currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Porsche in the GTE PRO class. Career Karting Born in Karlslunde, Christensen had a very successful karting career, winning the 2004 Nordic ICA Junior Championship. The following year he gathered both Nordic and European titles in ICA Junior class. Carlo Van Dam
Carlo van Dam (born 27 February 1986 in Vlaardingen) is a Dutch racing driver. He is currently a factory driver for Subaru and he is the reserve and tear driver for R&D Sport in the Super GT Series while driving for Subaru Tecnica International in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring and the Nürburgring Endurance Series. European KF1 Championship
The European KF1 Championship is a kart racing competition organised by the CIK-FIA. This class used to be called Formula A and has changed since January 2007 when CIK-FIA decided to replace the 100 cc water-cooled two-stroke engines with 125 cc Touch-and-Go (TaG) water-cooled two-stroke engines (KF type).
