Gil Dobrică
Gil Dobrică (; February 14, 1946 – April 17, 2007) was a Romanian singer. He is most famous for his 1979 cover version of John Denver's song "Take Me Home, Country Roads" or simply "Country Roads" (adapted as "Hai acasă" - "Come on Home"), although he had performed a variety of musical genres (pop, rock, blues, soul, jazz, country) and performed several covers of artists as diverse as Ray Charles, Little Richard, Otis Redding and Bill Monroe. Born in Călărași, Dolj County, Gil Dobrică moved to Craiova when he was 14, where he went to a vocational school and became a lathe operator. When he was 17, he started singing at the workers' club in the ''November 7'' Factory in Craiova, with a repertoire ranging from jazz, soul, rock to swing. In the 1970s, he came to Bucharest and started collaborating with the band Sfinx. Gout
Gout ( ) is a form of inflammatory arthritis characterized by recurrent attacks of a red, tender, hot and swollen joint, caused by deposition of monosodium urate monohydrate crystals. Pain typically comes on rapidly, reaching maximal intensity in less than 12 hours. The joint at the base of the big toe is affected in about half of cases. It may also result in tophi, kidney stones, or kidney damage. Gout is due to persistently elevated levels of uric acid in the blood. This occurs from a combination of diet, other health problems, and genetic factors. Amza Pellea
Amza Pellea (; 7 April 1931 – 12 December 1983) was a Romanian actor noted for playing Romanian national heroes on film. He was born in Băilești, Oltenia, and attended the Carol I High School in Craiova. He later played at the Craiova Theatre, then at the Small Theatre, the Nottara Theatre, the Comedy Theatre, and the National Theatre in Bucharest, and also was a professor at the Academy of Theatre and Film in Bucharest. Pellea played numerous comic and serious roles. In cinema he was most noted for his roles portraying historical leaders. His earliest leading roles were as Romanian national heroes, beginning with Decebalus in '' Dacii'' (1967) and '' Columna'' (1968). He also portrayed Michael the Brave in ''Mihai Viteazul'' (1971). Sfinx (band)
Sfinx was one of the most appreciated Romanian rock acts in the 1970s, along with Phoenix. History The early years (1963–1973) The band was formed in 1963, in Bucharest. It was singer and guitarist Octav Zemlicka who had the idea to start the band. ("Sfinx" is Romanian for sphinx.) The initial line up included bassist Corneliu Ionescu, nicknamed "Bibi", who would be the only member to stay with the band until they disbanded. In 1966, Sfinx were aired for the first time on radio, with ''Îmi place muzica'' ("I love music") and their eponymous song, ''Sfinx''. 1968 brought drummer Marian Toroimac into the band, and together with him, the young and shy Dan Andrei Aldea (both had been members of a band called Memphis).
