Carlos Gilberto Nascimento Silva or simply Gil (; born 12 June 1987 in Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Corinthians. International career On 19 August 2014, Gil was called up to play for the Brazil national team against Colombia and Ecuador by new manager Dunga His debut took place during the match against Ecuador, which Brazil won 1-0. Gil played at the 2014 edition of the Superclásico de las Américas, where Brazil defeated Argentina 2-0. He was placed in the standby list for the 2015 Copa América. Gil had a controversially disallowed goal, in which he was ruled to have fouled an opposition player before heading into the net, in a FIFA World Cup qualifier away to Paraguay, in March 2016. José Gildeixon Clemente de Paiva (3 September 1987 – 28 November 2016), commonly known as Gil, was a Brazilian Association football, footballer who last played for Associação Chapecoense de Futebol, Chapecoense as a Midfielder#Defensive midfielder, defensive midfielder. The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as the Copa Libertadores de América ( pt, Copa Libertadores da América), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. Campeonato Brasileiro Série C
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série C is the third tier of the Brazilian football league system. Unlike the first and second divisions, the Série C is not played in a double round robin system, arguably because many participating teams lack the financial conditions to travel long distances. Thus, the tournament is organized in regional groups and the table prevents teams from distant states from playing each other in the initial rounds. Until 2008, any professional team could apply, but only 64 teams would take part in the tournament. The teams that had been relegated from the Série B in the previous year were joined by teams qualified for each federation state. Copa Rio (state Cup)
The Copa Rio ( en, Rio Cup) was founded in 1991 by the Rio de Janeiro State Football Federation to decide one of the Rio de Janeiro's Copa do Brasil representatives of the following year (the other being the Campeonato Carioca champion). If the state champion had also won Copa Rio, the representative would have been the tournament runner-up. However, in 1995 the Brazilian Football Confederation established the possibility of a club being invited to dispute Copa do Brasil, and, as a consequence of this, Copa Rio ended up not being interesting for the big teams, so it was discontinued. In 1996 and 1997, the competition was replaced by a similar competition disputed only by Rio de Janeiro state countryside clubs, commonly known as Copa do Interior (Portuguese for ''Countryside Cup'').
