Gifty Afenyi-Dadzie
Gifty Afenyi Dadzie (born 7 June 1957) is a Ghanaian female journalist, media practitioner, businesswoman and was the longest serving president of the Ghana Journalists Association. She is also a member of the COVID-19 Trust Fund Board of Trustees. Early life Afenyi Dadzie was born to Mr. J. K. Affenyi, a health inspector and later, the director of the Takoradi Port, and her mother Mrs Charity Affenyi, a trader. Education Afenyi Dadzie had her basic education at Tarkwa Methodist Primary School and Mmofraturo Girls' Boarding School in Kumasi and her secondary education at Winneba Senior High School in Winneba from 1970 to 1975 in the Central Region of Ghana. She holds a master's degree in Governance and Leadership from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). She also has a Chartered Institute of Administrators fellowship. Central Region (Ghana)
The Central Region is one of the sixteen administrative regions of Ghana. John Kufour
John Kofi Agyekum Kufuor (born 8 December 1938) is a Ghanaian politician who served as the President of Ghana from 7 January 2001 to 7 January 2009. He was also Chairperson of the African Union from 2007 to 2008. Kufuor's career has been spent on the liberal-democratic side of Ghanaian politics, in the parties descended from the United Gold Coast Convention and the United Party. A lawyer and businessman, he was a minister in Kofi Abrefa Busia's Progress Party government during Ghana's Second Republic, and a Popular Front Party opposition frontbencher during the Third Republic. In the Fourth Republic Kufuor stood as the New Patriotic Party's candidate at the 1996 election, and then led it to victory in 2000 and 2004. The Council of State in Ghana is a small body of prominent citizens, analogous to the Council of Elders in the traditional political system, which advises the President on national issues. The Council of State was established by Articles 89 to 92 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana: "There shall be a Council of State to counsel the President in the performance of his functions." Ghana has a pluralistic and free media environment with an independent statutory media regulatory body, which is the National Media Commission. The Ghana Institute of Journalism is a public university in Ghana. The institute has accreditation from the National Accreditation Board. History The Ghana Institute of Journalism was established on 16 October 1959 by Kwame Nkrumah, the first president of Ghana.
