Giedroyć (Lithuanian: Giedraitis; Russian: Гедройц; French: Guedroitz) is a Polish surname, originating from the Giedroyć princely family of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and later the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Andrius Giedraitis
Andrius Giedraitis (born July 23, 1973) is a Lithuanian former professional basketball player and coach. Professional career Giedraitis started his career in the LPA Vilnius team, and he later moved to BC Sakalai. In 1998, he became a member of BC Lietuvos Rytas. He was one of the leaders of that team. In 2001, he moved to Telindus Oostende. During the 2002–03 season, he played with Śląsk Wrocław, where he became one of the team's leaders (avergaing 11.6 points per game). In 2003, he signed a contract with BC Lietuvos Rytas, however, due to an injury, he did not play. In 2004, he moved to BSG Basket Ludwigsburg, where he also immediately became one of the team's leaders. In 2005, he played with BC Dynamo Moscow Region. Merkelis Giedraitis
Merkelis Giedraitis ( pl, Melchior Giedroyć; – 6 April 1609) was Bishop of Samogitia from 1576 to 1609. Educated at Protestant universities in the Duchy of Prussia and Germany, he actively combated the Reformation implementing resolutions of the Council of Trent in Samogitia. Born into the princely Giedraičiai family, he inherited a much neglected diocese that was reduced to only about 20 priests. He became known for his devotion and work to end clerical abuses, strengthen churches and schools, and increase the number of priests. Giedraitis invited the Jesuits to Kražiai where the Kražiai College was established already after his death and the Bernadines to Kretinga where they established the first monastery in Samogitia. He sponsored Mikalojus Daukša, who translated and published ''Catechism'' (1595) and ''Postil'' (1599) in the Lithuanian language—the first Lithuanian books printed within the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Robertas Giedraitis (born August 29, 1970) is a Lithuanian basketball coach and former player. He is currently the assistant coach for Šiauliai of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL). He is also a head coach of BC Delikatesas. Robertas Giedraitis played his whole career with Šiauliai. He is currently the player with the most steals and the most assists made in Lithuanian Basketball League's history. Rokas Giedraitis (born August 16, 1992) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player for Baskonia of the Liga ACB and the EuroLeague. He plays at the small forward position. Professional career In 2013, Giedraitis was named Finals MVP of the NKL after scoring 26 points and leading his team to title.
