Gibson General Hospital
Deaconess Gibson Hospital, formerly Gibson General Hospital, is a hospital institution in Princeton, Indiana, serving largely Gibson County, Indiana but also largely serves Wabash County, Illinois as well. It is located along Sherman Drive at the northern end of Princeton's West Side or two blocks north of the WRAY/WRAY-FM Studios. The current hospital has 64 slots for patients. History Princeton Sanatorium opened in 1907 and closed in 1910. Methodist Hospital Corporation re-established the hospital in 1917. It was renamed Gibson General Hospital and became an individual private hospital in 1941. From 1956 to 1962 the current hospital was built. Princeton is the largest city in and the county seat of Patoka Township, Gibson County, Indiana, United States. The population was 8,301 at the 2020 United States Census, and it is part of the greater Evansville, Indiana, Metropolitan Area. History In 1800, the Indiana Territory was created with Vincennes (Knox County) as its capital. The rich farmlands in the southwest of the territory with access to the Ohio River attracted many pioneers and settlers to the area, one of whom was an Irish immigrant named William Prince. Gibson County is a county in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Indiana. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 33,503. The county seat is Princeton. History In 1787, the fledgling United States defined the Northwest Territory, which included the area of present-day Indiana. In 1800, Congress separated Ohio from the Northwest Territory, designating the rest of the land as the Indiana Territory. President Thomas Jefferson chose William Henry Harrison as the territory's first governor, and Vincennes was established as the territorial capital. Wabash County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois. According to the 2020 census, it had a population of 11,361. Its county seat is Mount Carmel. It is located in the southern portion of Illinois known locally as " Little Egypt". History Wabash County was formed in 1824 out of Edwards County. The station's studios are located on Mount Auburn Road in Evansville, and its transmitter is located in the Wolf Hills section of Henderson, Kentucky.
