German Women's Cricket Team In Austria In 2020
The Germany women's cricket team toured Austria in August 2020 to play a five-match bilateral Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) series. The matches were played at the Seebarn Cricket Ground in the Seebarn subdivision of Harmannsdorf, Lower Austria. The series was the first women's international cricket to be played since the 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Final on 8 March 2020, following widespread disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Austria had last played a match in a quadrangular series in France in August 2019, and Germany had last played an international match during their visit to Oman in February 2020. Germany won the series 5–0, breaking a number of records along the way. In match two of the series, the unbeaten opening partnership of 191 between Christina Gough and Janet Ronalds meant that Germany set a WT20I record for the most runs scored in an innings without losing a wicket. The same pair broke this record again in match four, with Germany's inn ...

Andrea-Mae Zepeda (born 24 October 1995) is an Austrian cricketer and medical doctor. She plays for her national cricket team as an all-rounder. In 2019, she captained the team in its first ever Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I). In 2021, she became the first player to score a century for Austria in a WT20I. However, she did not become involved in cricket until two years later, when her younger brother started playing the game. The two of them would play together. In her home city, there was only one cricket pitch, and during her youth, very few girls played cricket. Zepeda therefore usually trained and played cricket with boys. After having played cricket for a while, Zepeda realised that she wanted to play in a women's team. In 2015, she ...

Cricket In Austria
Cricket in Austria is a sport growing in popularity played mostly in Summer. History Having been played by the gardeners of rich aristocratic families at the end of the 19th century - at which time Vienna Cricket and Football Club was founded, cricket disappeared in Austria until after the Second World War, when it was played by British occupying troops on a recreational basis. The modern era as such began in May 1975, when Kerry Tattersall introduced the game to his pupils at the commercial academy where he was teaching English and formed Vienna Cricket Club. Early opponents came from the United Nations (United Nations CC) and diplomatic services (Five Continents CC) and these founder clubs survive to this day. Cricket remains predominantly Viennese-based with nine of the 13 member clubs being based in Vienna. CC Velden '91 is the oldest non-Viennese club, operating since 1991. The latest addition to the ACA is the Under-19 team Austrian Daredevils Cricket Club (ADCC) from Vi ...

Not Out
In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Occurrence At least one batter is not out at the end of every innings, because once ten batters are out, the eleventh has no partner to bat on with so the innings ends. Usually two batters finish not out if the batting side declares in first-class cricket, and often at the end of the scheduled number of overs in limited overs cricket. Batters further down the batting order than the not out batters do not come out to the crease at all and are noted as ''did not bat'' rather than ''not out''; by contrast, a batter who comes to the crease but faces no balls is ''not out''. A batter who ''retires hurt'' is considered not out; an uninjured batter who retires (rare) is considered ''retired out''. Notation In standard notation a batter's score is appended with an asterisk to show the ...

Vice Captain (cricket)
The captain of a cricket team, often referred to as the skipper, is the appointed leader, having several additional roles and responsibilities over and above those of the other players. As in other sports, the captain is usually experienced and has good communication skills, and is likely to be one of the most regular members of the team, as the captain is responsible for the team selection. Before the game the captains toss for innings. During the match the captain decides the team's batting order, who will bowl each over, and where each fielder will be positioned. While the captain has the final say, decisions are often collaborative. A captain's knowledge of the complexities of cricket strategy and tactics, and shrewdness in the field, may contribute significantly to the team's success. Due to the smaller coaching/management role played out by support staff, as well as the need for greater on-field decision-making, the captain of a cricket team typically shoulders more re ...

Wicket-keeper
The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. The wicket-keeper is the only member of the fielding side permitted to wear gloves and external leg guards. The role of the keeper is governed by Law 27 of the Laws of Cricket. Stance Initially, during the bowling of the ball the wicket-keeper crouches in a full squatting position but partly stands up as the ball is received. Australian wicket-keeper Sammy Carter (1878 to 1948) was the first to squat on his haunches rather than bend over from the waist (stooping). Purposes The keeper's major function is to stop deliveries that pass the batsman (in order to prevent runs being scored as 'byes'), but he can also attempt to dismiss the batsman in various ways: * The most common dismissal effected by the keeper is for him to '' catch'' a ...
